The Marvel Cinematic Universe will always be measured against Avengers: Endgame. The fourth Avengers film is deeply moving, bringing Earth’s heroes together for what feels like a final adventure. It resolves long-standing conflicts, like the one between Captain America and Iron Man, and gives beloved characters like Hawkeye and Black Widow a poignant, selfless moment. Ultimately, the film culminates in Tony Stark’s heroic sacrifice, using the Nano Gauntlet to defeat Thanos and his forces. Endgame delivers everything fans hoped for in a grand finale, but its other strengths often go unnoticed.
Both Avengers: Infinity War and its sequel are packed with action. Infinity War starts with a bang, showcasing the Hulk, and ends with the Avengers giving their all against Thanos. Endgame doesn’t skimp on the exciting battles either, and the recent film The Fantastic Four: First Steps even includes a recreation of a memorable fight from Endgame when the Fantastic Four are at their lowest point.
Avengers: Endgame Unleashes Its Most Powerful Character on Its Big Bad

In Endgame, every hero is driven by a desire for revenge against Thanos, who eliminated half of all life five years prior. However, Wanda Maximoff’s reasons are particularly personal. In Infinity War, she desperately fought to save Vision from being killed – he possessed the Mind Stone that Thanos needed. While Shuri tried everything she could to find another way, time ran out, and Wanda was forced to make the heartbreaking decision to destroy Vision herself, briefly thwarting Thanos’s plans. Unfortunately, Thanos reversed time with the Time Stone and got the Mind Stone anyway, and moments later, Wanda tragically disappeared, still holding Vision’s body.
Because Wanda was frozen in ice, she wasn’t a major player in Endgame. Her friends worked incredibly well together to bring her and everyone else back from being dusted. However, when Wanda returns, she isn’t looking for comfort – she knows Vision is truly gone. As the battle begins, she focuses all her energy on Thanos, determined to get revenge. She doesn’t even worry about facing a different version of the villain she fought in Infinity War. Without the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos is weaker and quickly loses control. Luckily for him, he still has his army to help, unlike some other MCU villains.
Sue Storm Channels Her Inner Scarlet Witch in The Fantastic Four: First Steps

Although First Steps doesn’t involve Infinity Stones or time travel, the situation is still incredibly dangerous. Silver Surfer arrives on Earth early in the movie to warn everyone about Galactus, his master, who destroys planets as a hobby. To make matters worse, Galactus demands that Reed and Sue Richards give him their future child, believing the baby possesses immense cosmic power. Naturally, the Fantastic Four refuse, and they return to Earth to get ready for a fight.
So, the big idea was to teleport Earth out of Galactus’s path, thanks to Reed’s tech, but the Silver Surfer quickly put a stop to that. We were then down to a desperate plan: the Fantastic Four tried to trick Galactus into going through this final portal, but nobody could actually make him go. It was heartbreaking, but Sue Storm stepped up. She refused to let anyone she cared about die, and pushed her powers further than ever before, managing to send Galactus away. Sadly, it cost her life. But her son, Franklin, couldn’t imagine a life without his mom, not even for five minutes, let alone years. He used his own incredible abilities to bring her back. It’s such a shame Wanda Maximoff wasn’t around to see it, though – I really think conversations between those two powerhouses would have been absolutely epic.
