Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Next Role Involves a Rom-Com

It’s safe to say that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s next project will be done with love.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s production company, Archewell, is partnering with Tracy Ryerson to create a Netflix film based on Jasmine Guillory’s popular 2018 novel, The Wedding Date, several news sources have reported.

Tracy Oliver, the first Black woman to write a film – 2017’s Girls Trip – that earned over $100 million worldwide, is adapting a novel. The story centers on a woman who agrees to attend a wedding with a man she meets after getting stuck in an elevator with him. This book is the first in a planned six-book series.

Meghan and Harry are starting a new project following news that they’ve renewed their deal with Netflix. This continues a successful partnership that has already produced several projects, including Meghan’s lifestyle show, With Love, Meghan, the documentary series Harry & Meghan, and Polo, along with her As Ever product line. The new agreement will cover future TV and film projects.

In August, Meghan announced they were continuing their collaboration with Netflix, now including their As Ever brand. She shared that she and her husband are excited to work with partners who share their goal of creating meaningful and globally appealing content through Archewell Productions.

Things are really heating up for this power couple! Not only are they busy with their production company, but I’m also so excited to see the mom of two return to acting – it’s been a while since her days on Suits back in 2018, and I know her fans will be thrilled!

Meghan Markle is expected to appear as herself in the new film Close Personal Friends, starring Lily Collins and Brie Larson. The movie centers around a couple who become friends with a well-known celebrity pair while vacationing in Santa Barbara, California.

Meghan Markle, known for her role in the series With Love, Meghan, had said before that she wasn’t eager to go back to acting.

Meghan Markle, known for her role in the show With Love, Meghan, had previously said she wasn’t eager to go back to acting.

In 2022, she told Variety that she was finished and didn’t plan to return, though she left the door slightly open by saying, “never say never.”

Although the movie adaptation of The Wedding Date will take a bit longer, here’s a look at other books becoming films and series next year…
