Meghan Markle is unbothered as ever.
When Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, wore a green dress originally featured in a 2022 photo shoot for Variety in an upcoming episode of her show With Love, Meghan, old accusations resurfaced. A journalist had previously claimed on a 2024 podcast that she hadn’t returned clothes after a previous photoshoot.
Meghan’s team quickly denied rumors about the $1,695 Galvan “Ushuaia” dress and how she obtained it.
A spokesperson for Meghan stated to TopMob News that claims anyone took items without the stylists’ and their teams’ full knowledge and consent are completely untrue and damaging to her reputation. They confirmed that any items retained were done so openly and according to agreed-upon contracts.
Meghan Markle, known for her role in Suits, has often discussed her thoughtful approach to interior design, particularly during her time as a working royal. She and her husband, Prince Harry, share two children: 6-year-old Archie and 4-year-old Lilibet.
She explained on The Jamie Kern Lima Show in April that she hadn’t been speaking publicly for a while. She wondered how people could focus on her message if they were instead focused on her appearance, asking, ‘If you couldn’t hear me, how could I be heard through what I was wearing?’
A wonderful benefit of Meghan’s thoughtful approach to style is her ability to highlight diverse voices within the fashion industry. She’s explained that she especially loves supporting brands with strong values and women leaders.
The founder of As Ever is also passionate about showcasing designers, both well-known and up-and-coming.
When I know all eyes are on me and what I wear, I like to support designers I’m close to, as well as newer, smaller brands that deserve more recognition, she told The New York Times in August 2024.
Meghan explained that something surprisingly impactful she can do is simply wear an earring.
