Meghan Trainor Says She’s “Not Involved” in Mom Group Drama

Meghan Trainor is saying no when it comes to her involvement in the mom group drama.

The 32-year-old responded to rumors that she was one of the mothers mentioned in an article Ashley Tisdale wrote for The Cut. In the January article, Tisdale, known for High School Musical, described feeling lonely and unsupported by her group of mom friends.

Meghan, who has two children – 4-year-old Riley and 2-year-old Barry – with her husband, Daryl Sabara, recently made a playful point on TikTok. In a video posted on January 12th, she used a popular sound clip from season five of Stranger Things. She lip-synced to a line where the character Holly Wheeler desperately says, “Please you have to believe me,” while pretending to warn children about a friend named Mr. Whatsit.

She posted a video with the caption, “Still trying to explain to people that I have nothing to do with the drama in the mom group.”

Driving her point home, Meghan captioned clip, “I swear I’m innocent.”

The singer of “Lips are Moving” just released a new video shortly after publicly addressing recent drama. Fans have been trying to figure out who Ashley was referring to in her essay, particularly among her previously shown friends like Mandy Moore and Hilary Duff.

Honestly, I used to feel like Meghan didn’t need to explain herself. Her music, especially ‘Still Don’t Care,’ just said it all, you know? It was like, everything I needed to know about how she felt was right there in the lyrics. It was perfect, she let the song speak for itself!

The singers started with, “Just give me a second to consider it, but it really doesn’t matter to me.” They repeated, “I’ve looked at it again, and I still don’t care.”

The Grammy winner playfully added a series of tea emojis to the caption of her post on January 8th.

I’ve been following this whole situation, and it’s really heartwarming to see that Daryl has confirmed the Sabara/Trainor family is sending nothing but love and support to Ashley. It means a lot, especially with all the talk online about her recent personal essay, and knowing she’s a mom to Jupiter, who’s four, and little Emerson, just sixteen months old, with Christopher French. It’s good to see them focusing on what really matters.

Daryl Sabara, known for his role in Spy Kids, told TMZ on January 8th that he’s not involved in any public disputes and is simply focused on making sure his children are happy.

In January 2024, Bobby addressed speculation about a disagreement with Tan, following his announcement in November 2023 that he was leaving Queer Eye after eight seasons. (Bobby is shown second from the left in the picture.)

He told Vanity Fair that he and Tan are doing okay. He explained they went through a personal issue, but it’s separate from their work on the show and wasn’t a romantic matter. He wanted to make that clear.

In March 2024, Tan addressed claims that he tried to get his friend Jeremiah Brent to replace Bobby on the show Queer Eye.

Netflix and the production team held extensive auditions. I didn’t recommend my friend for the role, but they ultimately landed it because they were the most qualified. I also want to clarify that I didn’t help them get the part by having another actor removed from consideration, as he explained in an Instagram post.

During a September 2023 game of “Stir the Pot” with her daughter, Kelly Osbourne, on TopMob News, Sharon Osbourne revealed that actor Danny Masterson was the rudest celebrity she’d ever encountered. She described him as a consistently rude and unpleasant person.

He did not respond to her remarks publicly.

Five years ago, Sharon shared with Larry King that Ashton seemed upset during his 2014 appearance on The Talk after she mispronounced his name.

She remembered him asking, ‘Who are you and what have you accomplished in this business?’ Her response was blunt: ‘Listen, don’t underestimate me, because I will completely overwhelm you.’ She essentially told him, ‘You have no idea who you’re talking to.’

In August 2022, Cassadee Pope and Maren Morris publicly disagreed with Brittany Aldean, the wife of country singer Jason Aldean. This followed a post Brittany shared on Instagram on August 23rd, where she thanked her parents for not allowing her to transition during a phase where she preferred traditionally masculine interests, stating she enjoyed her current feminine lifestyle.

In a 2022 TikTok trend, JoJo Siwa called Candace Cameron Bure the “rudest” celebrity she’d ever met, explaining that Bure once turned down her request for a photo on the red carpet. Shortly after, Cameron Bure apologized, saying she regretted hurting Siwa’s feelings when she was eleven and acknowledging she should have taken the picture. She expressed her sincere apologies to Siwa.

Candace and the other person resolved their differences. However, when asked months later if her network, Great American Family, would ever feature same-sex couples as the main characters in holiday films, she stated it wouldn’t, explaining that the network would continue to focus on traditional marriage.

JoJo, who publicly shared they are part of the LGBTQ+ community in 2021, responded to the actress’ comment on Instagram, calling it “rude and hurtful to an entire community.”

In June 2021, Courtney Love claimed Olivia Rodrigo had copied the album cover art for her band Hole in a promotional photo without giving credit. Olivia simply responded with a message of support, saying, “Love u and live through this sooooo much.” Courtney then playfully replied, thanking Olivia and offering to share the contact information for her favorite florist in London if Olivia messaged her directly.

I was chatting on Watch What Happens Live recently, and someone asked me about working with Tom Hanks on Turner & Hooch back in ’89. Apparently, there’s always been curiosity about whether we really got along! It’s true, we didn’t exactly hit it off on set, and I finally shared what happened.

I directed the film for thirteen days, and then Jeff Katzenberg, the producer, called me into his office and told me to pack up and go home, as I had everything I needed with me, he said.

Winkler and Hanks’ dog seemed to get along very well. “I really loved that dog,” Winkler said.

He also refused to admit if he’s even seen the flick.

“You know what you did!”

Oh my god, I still remember it like it was yesterday! It was the season three premiere of The Hills, and Lauren said the most iconic thing. It all started when Heidi started dating Spencer – Spencer Pratt! – and things just spiraled. The drama was unreal when Lauren found out they were spreading this awful rumor about her and Jason Wahler, claiming she’d made a sex tape. I was obsessed with this feud, it was everything!

Tyrese and Dwayne Johnson had a public falling out after the release date for Fast & Furious 9 was delayed to April 2020. On the same day, a spin-off movie featuring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham was announced, slated for release in 2019. Shortly after, Tyrese said he would leave Fast 9 if Dwayne Johnson remained involved.

Tyrese recently discussed the conflict with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, telling Van Lathan on the The Red Pill podcast that they still haven’t spoken directly, though he hopes to. He mentioned he did talk to one of Johnson’s producing partners, but not Johnson himself.

Tyrese admitted he shouldn’t have publicly shared frustrations he’d heard from others connected to the franchise. He explained he was the one who spoke out, and he takes responsibility for that, saying it wasn’t professional or appropriate.

No more bad blood here.

Taylor Swift and Katy Perry had a long-running public disagreement, rumored to be the inspiration behind Swift’s song “Bad Blood.” The conflict, which began with issues over a shared backup dancer and rivalry during concert tours, ended when Perry sent Swift an olive branch as a peace offering before Swift’s Reputation Tour began.

Taylor shared on Instagram that she found a real olive branch in her dressing room, saying it meant a lot to her.

Taylor captioned the video, “Thank you Katy.”

For years, Kim Cattrall and Sarah Jessica Parker, stars of Sex and the City, dismissed rumors of a disagreement. However, those rumors resurfaced when Kim chose not to participate in a third movie and later made comments about her co-star that many found surprising.

During a September 2017 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked Sarah Jessica Parker how she felt about Kim Cattrall telling Piers Morgan that they had only ever been coworkers, not friends.

She was deeply upset, saying she was just heartbroken. They had talked about it all week, and she found it really disturbing because her memory of what happened was completely different.

It’s definitely sad, but I believe what truly connects us is the unique experience we shared. While it started as a professional collaboration, it became deeply personal over the years. I’m hoping that those years, and the special connection we built with people through our work, will ultimately be more meaningful than any recent disagreements. It was a real privilege to do something so special for so long.

And though they didn’t film scenes together, Kim did make a small appearance on And Just Like That.

Elton John and Madonna have been publicly disagreeing since 2004. The conflict began when Elton, while accepting an award, criticized Madonna’s live performances. He famously told the audience that he disagreed with the idea of her being a great live act, questioning the use of lip-syncing and suggesting performers who did so should face serious consequences, especially considering the cost of concert tickets.

The actress, formerly on Grey’s Anatomy, caused a disagreement with the show’s creator back in 2008 when she asked to be removed from Emmy Award consideration. She explained that she didn’t think the storylines she was given were strong enough to deserve a nomination.

Shonda Rhimes discussed Katherine Heigl’s departure in a 2012 interview with Oprah Winfrey on Oprah’s Next Chapter. She admitted it was both hurtful and expected. “When someone consistently demonstrates their true character, you should believe it,” Shonda explained. “I’ve really taken that to heart, and it’s helped me a lot.”

The fight between Nicki and Cardi at the Harper’s Bazaar Icon party during New York Fashion Week made headlines everywhere. A month later, Cardi publicly explained what started the argument with Nicki.

Cardi B recently told W magazine that another person has been repeatedly criticizing her. They had talked twice before and seemed to resolve things, but the criticism continued.

The conflict truly escalated when Cardi B noticed Nicki Minaj had seemingly liked, then unliked, a tweet criticizing Cardi’s parenting. Nicki has stated she didn’t actually interact with the tweet.

Cardi B explained that she chose to be with her daughter instead of pursuing a highly profitable Bruno Mars tour. She emphasized her love for her daughter and her dedication as a mother, and expressed frustration that someone without children would criticize her choices. She also pointed out that opportunities to meet artists in casual settings are rare, making the recent encounter special, regardless of the location.

The conflict between Kanye West and Taylor Swift began in 2009 when he interrupted her acceptance speech at the MTV Video Music Awards. They later reconciled and became friends, but their relationship fell apart in 2016 after Kanye released his song “Famous,” which mentioned Taylor by name.

Just before the Grammys in February 2025, Kanye West began following only Taylor Swift on Instagram. He didn’t offer any explanation for this action, and Swift didn’t publicly acknowledge it.

“I don’t know her.”

The supposed rivalry between Mariah Carey and Jennifer Lopez has been talked about for over 15 years. It began during an interview where Mariah was asked about various singers. When asked about Jennifer Lopez, she famously stated, “I don’t know her.”
