Despite being one of the biggest girl groups ever, the Spice Girls have never had a documentary to share their story of achieving worldwide fame – until now.
Viewers noticed the absence of the group in BBC’s ‘Girlbands Forever,’ even though the series frequently referenced them, and it appears a documentary about them isn’t planned for the near future.
As the Spice Girls get closer to their 30th anniversary, Mel B shared that while the group has considered doing a revealing documentary or show, there are currently no concrete plans to make it happen.
Everyone’s probably been asked about it and considered it at some point,” she said in a recent interview with Hello!. “But it needs to happen authentically and truthfully – and not everyone is willing to be honest about it.”
When asked about a possible reunion tour to mark the occasion, the group quickly dismissed the idea. Mel B stated plainly, “It’s not happening.”
She explained that she owes a lot to her time in the Spice Girls, saying they had a significant impact on her personally and in her life. She cherishes the memories, but isn’t sure she’d want to perform with them again.
Last year, Mel B, also known as Melanie McPhee, suggested the Spice Girls were planning something special to celebrate the 30th anniversary of their hit song, “Wannabe.” However, it now seems those plans might not come to fruition, disappointing fans.
