The reviews for “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater” have been released, and one of the biggest surprises is a hidden mode called Guy Savage (or Snake’s Nightmare). Originally found in the PS2 version, directed by Shuyo Murata, it was left out in later ports and versions. What makes this even more interesting is that the reimagined version of this mode has been developed by PlatinumGames, as confirmed by Konami to GameSpot.
In simpler terms, Guy Savage’s character finds himself in a different world after saving and restarting the game while imprisoned. This new realm presents him as a mysterious figure armed with dual blades battling monsters. Unlike the original game, this segment is action-packed and reminiscent of fast-paced combat, fitting well with Platinum Games’ style (who are also developing the upcoming Ninja Gaiden 4).
Given that the creator was involved with “Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance” as recently as 2013, it seems quite appropriate to consider the possibility of a remaster or remake in the future. Fingers crossed!
On August 28th, you can play Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and personal computers. Take a look at our review.
