Metal Gear Solid Delta, Super Robot Wars Y Keep PS5 Software in the Japanese Top 10

In an unusual turn of events, a PlayStation 5 game has taken the top spot in Japan’s competitive video game market, which is typically led by Switch software.

In other words, during its debut week, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater claimed the top spot on the charts for physical sales, with approximately 63,585 units reportedly sold.

Moving further along the list, we find Super Robot Wars Y, with its PS5 version selling approximately 30,969 units and ranking fifth. Additionally, the newly released console-exclusive game, Lost Soul Aside, has debuted within the top 10, securing a spot at number nine.

On the hardware side, it appears that the PS5 isn’t doing as well compared to PlayStation; the PS5 is currently in fourth place, with approximately 5,000 units sold (around 6,000 when counting the Digital Edition). The proposed PS5 Pro, on the other hand, has recorded 2,437 sales.

In Japan, a standard workweek for PlayStation usually transpires, yet it’s heartening to note that a few games on the platform are managing to gain traction.
