The release date for Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 was announced at yesterday’s State of Play, which was exciting news for fans eager to replay Metal Gear Solid 4. However, there was another smart choice made with the collection that many people might have missed.
The online co-op features in Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker are still available, and they’re a highlight of the game. While these modes weren’t fully appreciated at launch, they’re incredibly fun now. You can team up with friends for the game’s complex story missions and epic boss battles, or compete in fast-paced deathmatches with up to six players. Mastering the game’s mechanics makes these matches especially challenging and rewarding.
Removing a key feature like that could have upset players, and Konami seems to have agreed, as they kept the online modes even in the newest version of Metal Gear Solid 4. Now, with the Nintendo Switch 2 expected to be compatible, Peace Walker has a good chance of gaining a new audience who can enjoy its missions, which were specifically built for playing with friends.
If you’re a fan of Metal Gear Solid, you’re in for a great summer! Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 2 is releasing on August 27th for Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, and the new Nintendo Switch 2.
