The classic game, Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater, has recently received an updated version, approximately 10 years after its initial release. Despite the makeover, it retains most of its original features with minimal alterations. This means that veterans of the game will find that they can still use the same methods to escape from the prison cell as they did previously. For those who may need a reminder, more details follow below!
Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater – How to Escape Prison (3 Methods)
When circumstances lead you into a jail cell due to narrative necessities, you’ll undoubtedly need to devise a plan for escape. Fortunately, you have three distinct options, which interestingly enough, bear a striking resemblance to strategies that were successfully employed over two decades ago.
For your convenience, I’ll outline the steps in a bulleted format as they are incredibly straightforward. Here are the three ways you can perform this task:
1. Method 1…
2. Method 2…
3. Method 3…
- Method #1. Faking Your Death – Pick up the fork from the ground and then use it to extract the bullet in your leg, which contains the fake death pill. Now, use the fake death pill and then use a revival pill as soon as the door is opened. Do not feign death for too long, as Snake will eventually die for real.
- Method #2. Faking an Illness – While the guard is looking at you, quickly open the cure menu and then start to spin Snake around for a prolonged period of time. Eventually, he will start puking in the real game as a result, which will prompt the guard to open the door. From here, you can CQC his butt and escape.
- Method #3. Using the Frequency – There are many ways to get the frequency needed to unlock the door, including little hints sprinkled around the facility or by seeing actual ghosts. To save you time, just input the frequency 144.75 (yes, the same as in the original game) and the door will swing open on its own.

Essentially, that’s all there is to it! This game resembles its predecessors quite closely, so if you’re an avid Metal Gear Solid fan who has played the originals, then chances are, this isn’t something new for you. However, if Snake Eater is a fresh adventure for you, congratulations on your release from captivity!
