After more than two decades since its initial release, the classic game Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater has undergone a significant facelift. While much of the game remains remarkably similar to its original form, some items within each level might not be in the same locations as they were years ago. However, there’s good news about one essential item – the night vision goggles. To help you out if you’ve forgotten where to find it, here is their updated location.
Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater – Night Vision Goggles Location
To begin, I recommend you take a look at our article detailing the locations of all Kerotans and Ga-kos within the Chyornaya Peschera cave region in Metal Gear Solid Snake Eater, if you haven’t done so already. Since we will be visiting the same area, start by reading through the initial section of the guide.
When you’re set to discover the first Kerotan at this level, scoot through the narrow gap close to the spot marked with a green check mark on the following map image. This path leads to a tiny cave where the Kerotan is hidden, yet there’s an added bonus – you’ll find night vision goggles lying directly in front of it on the ground.
Watch out for the hole in the center of this tiny open space. Avoid falling into it until you get the night vision goggles first. After picking up the small hovering box in front of the frog statue overhead, you’ll find the night vision goggles there!

What I’m trying to say is that there’s nothing more to it! It’s not some secret or hidden object, quite the contrary – it’s sitting right there in plain sight, even illuminated by a ray of sunlight. The only reason you might have overlooked it is because its location is somewhat off the beaten path.
