The former NFL player marked his twins, Isabella and Sophia Strahan, turning 21 with sweet photos and a touching message dedicated to them and their mother, Jean Muggli.

Michael expressed his surprise on Instagram on October 28th, questioning how his daughters, @isabellastrahan and @sophialstrahan, were already 21 years old. He followed up with birthday wishes, remarking on how quickly time had passed.

He added, “Love you both more than an Instagram post can ever say! LOL.”

Along with a heartfelt message, the Good Morning America host shared some cute photos with his daughters. One showed him wearing Minnie Mouse ears with Sophia, and another captured him with his arm around Isabella as she gave a peace sign.

In addition to receiving support from his fellow GMA anchor Ginger Zee, Sophia wrote in the comments, “Love you dad!!”

The twins’ mother celebrated her daughters with a heartwarming tribute featuring baby pictures, including a photo of them right after they were born at the hospital. She shared on Instagram, “21 years ago, these sweet girls made me a mom.”

Sophia shared a glimpse of her and Isabella’s celebration on Instagram, showing a party bus decorated with balloons and a cozy outdoor dinner with friends.

Isabella, who shared in July 2024 that her brain tumor was gone, also celebrated a special occasion with her twin sister, Sophia. She posted a cute childhood photo on Instagram of them both wearing matching floral pajamas and pink bandanas, with the caption, “Happy 21st twin!”

After a difficult health battle, she has a lot to be happy about. Earlier this year, Isabella shared a TikTok video looking back at her fight against medulloblastoma, a type of brain tumor common in children. The video showed clips from her cancer treatment and the exciting career opportunities she’s had since recovering. She captioned the post with a powerful message: “Living the life I fought for.”

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always encouraging people to listen to their bodies, and Isabella Strahan’s story is a perfect example of why. She shared that she felt completely fine until early October 2023, when she started getting headaches and feeling nauseous. She honestly didn’t suspect anything was wrong beforehand, which just goes to show how subtly things can sometimes start.

After a frightening incident of vomiting blood, her dad insisted she see a doctor. Tests, including an MRI, revealed she had medulloblastoma, a type of cancerous brain tumor most often found in children.

Later that month, she underwent brain surgery to remove the mass.

In January 2024, Isabella publicly shared her diagnosis in an interview with her father and Robin Roberts of ABC News.

Michael shared that he feels incredibly fortunate to have his daughter. While acknowledging she’s facing challenges, he’s confident she’s strong enough to overcome them and succeed.

Isabella’s twin sister, Sophia Strahan, also shared her support. In an Instagram post, she wrote about how lucky she is to have such an amazing sister and best friend. She acknowledged that the past few months have been incredibly difficult, but emphasized how strong Isabella has been throughout it all.

Following her interview, Isabella shared she had finished her round of radiation therapy.

She shared in a January 2024 YouTube video that she was relieved to be finished with something that had been challenging. After six long weeks, she was glad to finally recover and deal with the lingering effects it had on her.

Following radiation therapy, Isabella began undergoing chemotherapy to treat her cancer.

Oh my gosh, she described how she feels, and it’s just awful! She said it feels like she had a massive root canal, like every single tooth was pulled and just…left out! She’s in so much pain, not just in her jaw, but even the bottom of her tongue hurts, and she said even drinking water is painful! I’m seriously so worried about her!

Despite everything, the teenager stayed positive, playfully mentioning in a video a week later that her hair was now “too short.”

“Besides being bald,” she said, “it doesn’t bring me pain mentally.”

Isabella was supposed to start her second round of chemotherapy in early March 2024, but she needed emergency surgery on her skull first. During the surgery, doctors removed excess fluid from her head and replaced a piece of bone they’d previously removed with a titanium plate. This meant her chemotherapy had to be delayed for several weeks.

In a recent video, she shared that she was experiencing a lot of pain and her face was very swollen. She described feeling awful and even said she had been screaming from the discomfort.

In March 2024, Michael, Isabella’s dad, surprised her with a visit from her favorite singer, Bryson Tiller, to cheer her up while she was undergoing treatment.

Michael playfully told his daughter, while she was filming her vlog, “You haven’t been this active in months! You’re totally excited right now!”

In a video posted in March 2024, Isabella revealed she had begun her second cycle of chemotherapy, with four rounds remaining.

Amid her second chemotherapy round, Isabella said she began experiencing difficulties in walking.

In a video posted in March 2024, she explained that she gets lightheaded and breathless even with just walking, and wished there was a medicine to help with her extreme exhaustion.

The YouTuber shared good news after completing her second chemotherapy treatment: she now only needs two more rounds instead of the planned four.

She said in a video from April 2024, ‘These are happy tears.’ She explained that when you’re truly happy, you don’t even think about crying.

Isabella’s treatment faced a setback when she needed another brain surgery – her third craniotomy. She says this surgery was much different and more difficult than the ones she’d had before.

I’ve been crying quite a bit lately,” she shared in a video posted in April 2024. “During the procedure, they inserted a needle in three places to drain fluid, and I was fully conscious the entire time – it was my first surgery while awake.

Isabella shared an update on her third round of chemotherapy, explaining that she’s completely lost her appetite. “It just dropped to zero last week,” she said in a May 2024 video, adding that it’s frustrating.

Even though she was also dealing with memory problems, Isabella focused on the positive. “Tomorrow is my last chemotherapy session,” she said, “and after that, it’s just the final cycle, and then I’m finished. It’s incredible!”

Isabella marked the completion of her chemotherapy treatments by proudly holding up her crown. In a TikTok video posted in June 2024, she simply wrote, “Just finished chemo,” with the caption, “Did it.”

The student at the University of Southern California, who rang the bell and walked through a confetti parade in celebration, was able to enjoy a short summer break because of when the news arrived.

I’m really relieved because I was expecting to finish by the end of July,” she said. “I needed to complete six rounds of treatment, and then I’d have to return to school immediately. I’m just very happy about how things turned out.

In a July 2024 YouTube video, she shared that she had her chemo port removed and mentioned the area was still a little tender. She explained the recovery seemed manageable, involving about four weeks of avoiding water and being gentle with the scar.

Isabella happily announced in a July 2024 YouTube video that her post-chemotherapy scan showed no signs of cancer. She described the results as “great, great,” and shared that “everything was clear” and she was cancer-free.

Even so, she admitted she already missed her doctors and the entire team who had helped her, saying they were all so kind. She explained she felt sad knowing she wouldn’t be seeing them for a while because she cared about them a lot.

With her cancer now in remission, Isabella celebrated by going to Disneyland! Her father, a Super Bowl champion, and her twin sister, Sophia, joined her for an early 20th birthday celebration in October 2024.

The college student also celebrated another key milestone.

She shared on Instagram that it had been 365 days since a major life change. The post included a photo of herself in a cap, gown, and mask while in a hospital bed. She also posted a picture of the balloons and flowers she received, writing that she was grateful for the progress she’d made.

Isabella documented her cancer journey in a TikTok video posted in September 2024, showing both the difficult times – like being in the hospital and relearning to walk after her head was shaved – and the joyful moments of recovery. The video highlighted her progress by contrasting those early struggles with clips of her thriving, including a modeling campaign with Kenneth Cole, a scenic hike, and a run – activities she couldn’t do when she was sick.

The TikTok also featured H.E.R.’s song “The Journey,” with lyrics like, “Going through hell, but you’ll get through it. It’s an inner strength they can’t extinguish.”

In the caption of the post, Isabella triumphantly wrote, “Living the life I fought for.”
