The Michael trailer finally drops!
As a huge movie fan, I’ve seen a lot of music biopics, and honestly, a film about Michael Jackson felt overdue – it’s been over a decade since he passed away in 2009. Given all the controversy surrounding his life, it was always going to be a tricky project, and I figured his estate would have a lot of say in what makes the final cut. But finally, we’ve got our first look – the trailer is here!
What’s the Michael trailer going to cover?
This film explores the life of Michael Jackson, going beyond his music to show his incredible journey. It starts with his early days as the star of the Jackson Five and follows his drive to become the world’s greatest performer. The film offers a unique look at Michael, both behind the scenes and during some of his most famous early solo concerts, giving audiences an intimate portrait of the artist and where his story truly began.
The talent behind and in front of the camera….
The film stars Jaafar Jackson in his first leading role, alongside Nia Long (known from Empire and The Best Man), Laura Harrier (BlacKkKlansman, Spider-Man: Homecoming), and Juliano Krue Valdi (The Loud House, Arco). Miles Teller (Top Gun: Maverick, Whiplash) and Colman Domingo (a two-time Academy Award nominee, known for Sing Sing and Rustin) also feature in the cast. Antoine Fuqua, the director of films like Training Day, Olympus Has Fallen, and The Equalizer, directs the movie. The screenplay is by John Logan, a three-time Academy Award nominee who wrote Gladiator and The Aviator. The film is produced by Academy Award winner Graham King (The Departed, Bohemian Rhapsody), along with executive producers John Branca and John McClain, both of whom worked on Michael Jackson’s This Is It and other projects.
