Shaun Weiss is lending a helping hand to a fellow child actor.
I was so touched to hear that one of the original Mighty Ducks actors stepped up to help Tylor Chase. It broke my heart seeing that video of him struggling on the streets in Riverside, California, and it’s amazing that someone from the industry is offering him support. It’s a really heartwarming story, especially for those of us who grew up watching Ned’s Declassified School Survival Guide.
I was so relieved to hear from Shaun, who shared an update about Tylor Chase on Instagram. He explained that he’s been working with friends to get Tylor into a detox program and set up for long-term treatment – a huge thanks to his friend Mike Jordan at Eleven 11 Recovery! They’ve got a bed ready for him, they just need to locate Tylor. Shaun wishes he was in Los Angeles himself so he could help with the search, but he’s relying on others to find him right now.
The actor, who himself experienced homelessness while getting sober over the past ten years, asked anyone who has seen Tylor, 36, to reach out so they can help him before the holidays.
On December 20th, Tylor was stopped on the street by someone filming for social media who asked if he’d been on Disney Channel. He explained that he actually starred in Nickelodeon’s Ned’s Declassified as Martin Qwerly, alongside Devon Werkheiser, Daniel Curtis Lee, and Lindsay Shaw. The show ran for three seasons, from 2004 to 2007.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following the recent conversations around Tylor, and it’s clear many are deeply affected. Beyond Shaun’s comments, Devon, who played Ned Bigby on the show, has also shared his sadness, saying it’s truly heartbreaking to see his former colleague going through this.
He described Tylor as a genuinely sweet and sensitive person. It’s been nearly 20 years since they last saw each other, after the show finished. He added that dealing with serious addiction and mental health problems is incredibly difficult, especially if the person doesn’t want to get better.

He expressed hope that this situation will bring someone forward who can provide Tylor with the help and resources he needs to recover and rebuild his life. Ultimately, everyone wants to see him doing well.
