Playmates Toys released a line of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers toys late last year, including action figures, dinosaur robots (Dinozords), combined robot figures (Megazords), and roleplay items like Morphers and masks. A second wave of these toys is planned for release later this year. While figures of the White Ranger and Lord Zedd are coming soon, Playmates has confirmed that two other figures have been cancelled and won’t be released anytime in the future.
A Power Rangers fan on YouTube, D.T.V 83, recently shared an email from Playmates Toys about the delayed release of some figures from the first wave of their Re-Ignition line. Specifically, the figures of Squatt and King Sphinx, which had been displayed at events, won’t be released. The email explained that Playmates and Hasbro have changed their plans, and neither figure is currently scheduled for release in 2026.
Will Power Rangers Fans Ever Get The Unreleased Figures?

Early reports suggested a special Dragonzord toy would be available at certain stores, but that plan fell through, so it’s unclear if it will ever be released. Now, Squatt and King Sphinx won’t be released either, which is surprising considering Baboo is already appearing in stores. With Baboo now available, only Lord Zedd (coming in the next wave), Finster, and Squatt are needed to complete the main villain collection.
The email clarifies that just because something isn’t happening right now doesn’t mean it won’t happen in the future. They also mention that it’s common to show off potential toys at events like Toy Fair that never actually get made. However, with so many toys already being released from the first and second seasons, now would be the ideal time to create those figures if they were going to be made at all.
I was really hoping to get a Squatt figure for my collection, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that one will be released sometime in the future, either on its own or as part of a larger set. Besides Squatt, they’ve also shown off figures like the White Ranger, Lord Zedd, and alternate versions of the Red, Yellow, and Black Rangers (Rocky, Aisha, and Adam). The Z-Putties are cool too, as they actually explode when you play with them! We’ve also gotten a look at Saba, and the Tigerzord is coming soon.
It’s still uncertain if these plans will succeed, but we hope most of them come to fruition.
