fans just got another update on the future of the franchise, and it couldn’t be better.

According to Bleeding Cool, the upcoming Comics Giveaway Day 2026 issue of Power Rangers #0 from BOOM! Studios will include several stories highlighting three unique Power Rangers universes. Fans knew this issue would present a different take on the team, but it now appears it will feature three completely separate versions of the Rangers.

A new chapter begins for the Power Rangers! This special issue #0 celebrates Comics Giveaway Day by reuniting beloved Rangers from across the Morphin Grid in three exciting new stories. We’ll check in with the original Mighty Morphin team to see how they’ve changed and what happens when Billy calls them back to the Command Center after years apart. Plus, fans will be wondering: where is Tommy?

Okay, so the new Power Rangers comic sounds amazing! Apparently, a huge darkness is taking over the universe, and Rangers from all different eras and planets are teaming up – seriously, the combinations they’re hinting at are wild! Plus, they’re going to show one of my favorite Rangers in a totally new way, trying to be the last one standing on Earth. It sounds like a really important story, and they’re saying it’s a great place to start even if you haven’t followed Power Rangers in a while, or are totally new to it!

Boom! Studios Is Re-Introducing The Power Rangers

Fans are excited about the new Power Rangers comics from BOOM! Studios. The publisher has been working with the franchise for ten years, and it’s considered one of the best runs in its history. Starting in 2016, this latest series aims to introduce Power Rangers to a new generation of fans.

Beyond simply restarting the story of the Power Rangers, BOOM! Studios created characters and concepts that are now essential to the overall Power Rangers universe. They also clarified and improved some of the more complex parts of the franchise, like the Morphin Masters, solidifying elements from the original series that hadn’t fully taken root despite being around for over 30 years.

The free comic book “Power Rangers #0” from BOOM! Studios will be available at participating comic shops on May 2nd, 2026, as part of Comics Giveaway Day.
