If you love murder mysteries, one of the best parts is probably trying to solve the crime yourself as you watch. It’s fun to guess who did it before the ending reveals all the answers.
If you’re hoping to solve the mystery of the new Knives Out film, Wake Up Dead Man, you might be disappointed. That’s what stars Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, and Cailee Spaeny believe – they think the case is unsolvable.
When asked if she tried to guess who the killer was after reading the script, Kunis admitted she was wrong. Washington shared that she had to read the script multiple times before she finally understood all the clues.
“The story was already hard to keep track of, and then there was a murder on top of it!” she exclaimed. “It’s brilliantly complex, but honestly, the ending completely surprised me – I never would have guessed it.”
Spaeny confidently stated that the mystery’s resolution will be completely unexpected, and Kunis agreed, playfully suggesting anyone who claims to have figured it out is not telling the truth.

Andrew Scott, another actor in the show, admitted he didn’t bother trying to guess how the story would end, saying he was sure he’d be wrong.
He admitted Rian Johnson is better at crafting murder mysteries than he is. He explained that the script requires close attention, and the movie itself is complex and layered. It was hard to follow because so many characters weren’t well-known, and ultimately, he didn’t figure out the ending.
Daryl McCormack explained he did his best to stick closely to the complex script, but he, like Denzel Washington, needed to read it more than once to fully understand it.
He also had a remarkable gift for writing, and that’s what makes his work so enjoyable. While you’re reading, you genuinely don’t know what’s going to happen or who will be involved.
This movie is the third installment in Rian Johnson’s Knives Out franchise. It features Daniel Craig as detective Benoit Blanc, who investigates the mysterious death of a powerful and imposing priest, Monsignor Jefferson Wicks, played by Josh Brolin.
The film also features a fantastic cast including Josh O’Connor, Jeremy Renner, and Glenn Close. As the mystery unfolds, just about anyone could be the culprit, and the director keeps viewers guessing.
