MLB The Show 26 launches March 17

The latest baseball video game, MLB The Show 26, will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch starting March 17th. You’ll be able to pre-order the game beginning February 3rd, according to Sony Interactive Entertainment and San Diego Studio.

Aaron Judge, the star player for the New York Yankees, is back as the cover athlete for MLB The Show 26. He first appeared on the cover back in MLB The Show 18.

Here are the latest details:

This year’s MLB The Show focuses on the complete baseball experience – your path to becoming a legend. It’s about starting in high school and constantly striving to improve, with the ultimate goal of a Hall of Fame career. That idea of dedication was central to the game’s development, and we’re excited to have three-time American League MVP Aaron Judge back in the game.

He’s worked his way up from high school baseball, through college and the minor leagues, all the way to the major leagues and international competition. We’ve designed our game to reflect that same progression, aiming to deliver a truly realistic MLB experience that feels like being in the game itself.

Aaron continues to make baseball history. After an incredible rookie season in 2017 that landed him on our cover in 2018, he’s become a three-time American League MVP, a seven-time All-Star, and a five-time Silver Slugger winner. He also holds the AL record for most home runs in a single season with 62, and will captain Team USA in the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

Seriously, Aaron’s done so much, it’s incredible! He doesn’t just inspire baseball players, but athletes and fans everywhere. That’s why I’m hyped he’s back on the cover of MLB The Show 26! Now it’s our turn – let’s go out there and make some history in the game!

Get ready for launch with a few key updates:

  • Pre-orders for the Standard Edition and *Digital Deluxe Editions open on February 3, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET on TheShow.com, platform stores, and participating retailers.
  • Purchasing the Digital Deluxe Edition gives you four days of Early Access starting on March 13, 2026.
  • Starting March 17, the Standard Edition of MLB The Show 26 is fully available.

The World Baseball Classic Tournament Returns to Diamond Dynasty

The cover of this year’s MLB The Show 26 features Aaron Judge in his Team USA uniform. We’ll be sharing details soon about what this means for the Diamond Dynasty mode in the game, so keep an eye out for more information!
