As an ardent admirer of captivating storytelling and enchanting animations, I eagerly await the arrival of Disney Animation’s Moana 2. The trailer unveiled at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event was a mesmerizing spectacle that transported me right back to the magical islands of Oceania.
The enchanting trailer for Disney Animation’s upcoming film, “Moana 2”, was unveiled during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. This special event introduced fans to the amazing voice of Moana, Auli‘i Cravalho, alongside Polynesian dancers and drummers from Nonosina. The audience was the first to hear “We’re Back”, a brand new song penned by Grammy-winning duo Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, one of many fresh tunes featured in the film that brings Moana and Maui back together for an epic new adventure. After the captivating performance, Dwayne Johnson, who gives life to the charismatic demigod Maui, made a grand entrance, generating even more excitement. He unveiled a new trailer and poster for the first time, which are now accessible to all. The film is directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, and produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino.
In three years, Moana and Maui embark on a fresh expedition, joined by an assortment of unconventional sailors. Spurred by an unexpected summons from her guiding ancestors, Moana ventures to the distant Oceania seas and into hazardous, forgotten waters for an unprecedented adventure. Directed by David Derrick Jr., Jason Hand, and Dana Ledoux Miller, and produced by Christina Chen and Yvett Merino, the sequel to Moana, titled Moana 2, boasts music by Grammy® winners Abigail Barlow and Emily Bear, Grammy nominee Opetaia Foaʻi, and three-time Grammy winner Mark Mancina.
Originally conceived as a TV show that was set to premiere in 2020 on Disney+, Moana underwent a transformation into a cinematic sequel by February 2024. This new version is poised to achieve the same level of success as its initial movie release.
