Monster Hunter Stories 3: All Invasive Monsters and How To Beat Them

In Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, players will encounter powerful bosses called Invasive Monsters. These creatures – like Yian Garuga, Plesioth, and others such as Seregios, Arzuros, Nerscylla, Shogun Ceanataur, Diablos, Odogaron, and Khezu – appear throughout the game’s regions and protect rare monster dens. To access these dens, players must defeat them in battle.

Beating these challenging bosses rewards players with rare monster eggs, which can be used to bring life back to damaged environments and add strong new Monsters to their team. Each boss isn’t defeated by simply lowering its health – players need to figure out its specific weakness and meet certain requirements during the battle.

Different monsters in Monster Hunter Stories 3 need different strategies. Sometimes you’ll need to target specific body parts, while other times you’ll have to disrupt their attacks or special moves. Here’s a guide to help you defeat them all.

How to Find and Beat Invasive Monster Yian Garuga

You’ll fight the Yian Garuga, a tough invading monster, during Chapter 6 of Act 1. It shows up as part of the main story in Azuria, protecting a Rathian egg. Since it’s a required part of the story, you’ll encounter it as you play through the game.

To defeat this monster, concentrate on damaging its legs. Weapons that excel at breaking parts, such as hammers, are very effective for this. Breaking its legs will weaken Yian Garuga, causing it to retreat and letting you safely access its lair.

How to Find and Beat Invasive Monster Plesioth

You can find the Invasive Plesioth around Mirror Lake in Azuria, but it’s taken over the home of a rare and threatened Lagiacrus. Getting there requires a Monstie that can swim through the underwater channels.

This monster is especially weak to fire, so using a weapon that deals fire damage or bringing a Monstie with fire skills will make the fight much easier. To win, you need to break Plesioth’s head – once it’s broken, the monster will run away and leave the Lagiacrus egg behind.

How to Find and Beat Invasive Monster Arzuros

The Arzuros invading the Canalta Timberland are a key part of the story. What makes this fight different is that the monster will constantly call for help from other monsters.

Arzuros constantly creates smaller versions of itself using honey, making the fight chaotic with multiple enemies. The best way to win is to quickly defeat these smaller Arzuros with weapons that hit a wide area. Once they’re all gone and Arzuros runs out of honey, it will leave, giving you access to the Canyne egg.

How to Find and Beat Invasive Monster Diablos

Diablos, a dangerous and invasive monster, can be found in the Tarkuan region, close to the southern part of the massive Dragon’s Remains. Its lair is tucked away behind high mountains, and players can reach it by taking a winding path around the cliffs or by flying over with their Monstie.

This fight centers around Diablo’s ability to burrow underground. Throughout the battle, he’ll dig and create three mounds, then reappear from one of them. Players need to hit the correct mound before he surfaces again.

After you hit Diablos when it rises, it will leave its den, giving you access to collect the Tigrex egg.

How to Find and Beat Invasive Monster Seregios

You can find the Invasive Seregios in the northwest cliffs of Azuria, but you’ll need a flying Monstie to get there. To beat it, you’ll need to understand how it fights. A hammer with an attack that can hit multiple parts of its body at once is the most effective weapon to use.

If you can disrupt Seregios’s signature screech, it will become vulnerable and fly away, allowing you to reach the Astalos egg.

How to Find and Beat Invasive Monster Nerscylla

The Invasive Nerscylla appears in Blessing Hill within the Canalta Timberland, where it protects a Nargacuga nest. Getting to it usually requires a Monstie that can fly, as it’s located across a river.

This battle features Nerscylla’s ability to become invisible. To deal with this, players need to use a Gunlance with either Wyvern’s Fire or Wyvern Blaze. If you perfectly counter Nerscylla’s attacks, it will retreat, leaving behind a Nargacuga egg in its nest.

How to Find and Beat Invasive Monster Shogun Ceanataur

The Invasive Shogun Ceanataur is a very dangerous monster hidden in a cave behind a waterfall within the Frozen Grotto of Canalta Timberland. Its powerful Killer Claw attacks can instantly defeat players.

To overcome this challenge, focus on increasing your team’s defense before the monster attacks. Using Armorskin is a great way to do this. If you raise your defense sufficiently, the monster’s claws will become weak and break. Once its claws are disabled, the Shogun Ceanataur will back down, allowing you to obtain a Mizutsune Egg.

How to Find and Beat Invasive Monster Odogaron

You can find the aggressive Odogaron in Tarkuan’s Rococo Rocks, where it protects the Zinogre’s nest. The nest is located high up in the mountains, so you’ll usually need to use updrafts to glide and reach it.

Once the battle begins, players will face Odogaron, a very aggressive monster that’s hard to knock down. To win, the trick is to cover it in mud using Almudron’s Mud Torrent. This will slow Odogaron down and expose its claws, making it easier to attack.

Players should switch to weapons effective against armored enemies to break the monster’s claws, causing it to flee. Once it’s gone, you’ll receive a Zinogre egg as a reward from its den.

How to Find and Beat Invasive Monster Khezu

The Khezu is the last of the Invasive Monsters you’ll face, and it’s located in the Serathis region. You can find it hidden within a glacier alcove in the northeast part of the map, where it’s guarding a rare Barioth egg.

The Khezu’s most dangerous attack is its ability to paralyze your whole team, so be sure to bring items or skills that can prevent or cure paralysis before the fight. If you consistently win direct confrontations with the Khezu, you’ll fill up your Kinship Gauge. This allows you to perfectly counter its most powerful attack, forcing it to flee and giving you the Barioth Egg as a reward.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: How to Unlock Invasive Monsters

Want to know how to unlock Invasive Monsters and begin collecting rare eggs? You’ll gain access to them fairly early in the game during the Princess of Vermeil questline, when you first meet Yian Garuga and discover the importance of protecting endangered species.

After encountering them once, these monsters will start appearing in various areas of the game. Because they usually come out at night, players need to use Catavan Stands to change the time before they can find them.
