Rockstar has been busy with its support pages this week.
In an earlier post, we mentioned that, briefly, the PlayStation 4 was suggested as a playable platform for the grimy open-world adventure known as GTA 4.
It’s come to light that a “migration to online” section has appeared on Rockstar Games’ support page for Red Dead Redemption 2. Although it has now been taken down, this addition has sparked anticipation that a PS5 port of the Western game could be announced soon.
It seems clear that if Rockstar introduces an “online transfer” feature, it means your game progress can transition from one console to another, similar to how GTA 5 works. Since Red Dead Redemption 2 is currently exclusive to the PS4, this might indicate a possible release for the PS5 in the future.
It’s quite possible this was merely a mistake, even though it’s not the only instance where such an occurrence has taken place.
For decades, there have been whispers that Rockstar might be preparing a modern iteration of Arthur Morgan’s adventure, and this year, they sparked curiosity with tantalizing hints about upcoming news. However, what was shared ultimately proved to be a gathering of the game’s cast members rather than the anticipated game release.
Lately, the game developer has introduced numerous new missions to Red Dead Online, contrary to their earlier statement that they wouldn’t add more content to the multiplayer mode. This unexpected activity seems to hint at some potential developments.
Just as with Grand Theft Auto 4, if the publisher plans to launch a remake or rerelease this year, we would anticipate the announcement to come quite soon.
