Morgan Wallen thought you should know he’s upset.
During his May 29th concert in Denver, Colorado, the singer behind “Thought You Should Know” became upset with technical issues and, in frustration, flipped over a piano on stage.
A video shared on social media shows Morgan finishing a performance of his song “Sand in my Boots” and then intentionally knocking over and breaking a piano after it appeared to have a technical issue during the show.
A collective gasp and cheer rose from the crowd at Empower Field at Mile High when the piano’s top unexpectedly broke apart and crashed onto the stage.
After videos of the incident spread online, people began commenting on his aggressive actions.
People praised the video on TikTok, with one commenter calling it a display of “maturity at its best” and another highlighting its classiness.
People online are disagreeing about whether the country singer reacted strongly to the technical issue. One fan pointed out that rock stars have been dealing with similar problems and fixing their instruments on stage for years.
Meanwhile, another wrote, “Leave this man alone. Lmao.”
Morgan has caused controversy with his behavior on stage before. Last year, he unexpectedly walked off the Saturday Night Live set before the credits finished after performing as the musical guest – something that rarely happens in the show’s 51 seasons.

After several months, the singer, known as “Cowgirls,” publicly addressed the widely discussed incident. He shares a 5-year-old son named Indigo Wilder with his former partner, Katie Smith.
Okay, so everyone was saying there was drama with SNL – that I got angry and that’s why I left so suddenly. But honestly? That’s just not true. Let me tell you, there’s absolutely no bad blood between me and anyone there. Seriously, it wasn’t like that at all!
I was simply ready to leave for the day,” Morgan explained on the May 2025 episode of Sundae Conversations with Caleb Pressley. “I’d been working there all week.”

As a lifestyle observer, I found the recent Saturday Night Live episode quite interesting! Morgan Wallen was the musical guest, and he and host Mikey Madison wrapped up the show together. But here’s where it got a little unusual – instead of sticking around with the cast as the credits rolled, which is the typical thing to do, Morgan gave Mikey a quick hug and headed straight for the airport! He even posted a photo of a plane on the runway with the caption ‘Get me to God’s country,’ so it seems he was eager to get back home. It was definitely a departure from the usual post-show hang, and it got people talking!

In April 2024, country music star Morgan Wallen was arrested after police say he threw a chair from the roof of Chief’s bar in Nashville. Shortly after, on April 19th, Wallen posted on X (formerly Twitter) explaining that he wanted to make things right before speaking publicly. He stated he had contacted Nashville police, his family, and the staff at Chief’s, and that he took full responsibility for his actions. In December 2024, Wallen pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor charges related to the incident and was sentenced to two years of probation and seven days at a DUI education center.

In February 2021, a video surfaced of singer Morgan Wallen using a racial slur, prompting a swift apology to his fans. He stated he was “embarrassed and sorry” and acknowledged there was no excuse for his language, promising to do better.
The incident led to widespread condemnation within the country music community. Several artists criticized him, radio stations stopped playing his music, his record label temporarily suspended his contract, and he was excluded from multiple award shows.
Later that month, in a video posted to Instagram, Wallen reflected on the impact of his words. He emphasized that “a word can truly hurt a person” and that he didn’t want to contribute to that pain. He shared that conversations with Black individuals that week had deeply affected him, giving him a greater understanding of the harm caused by his actions and the importance of using language responsibly.

Oh my gosh, I was SO excited when Morgan Wallen was announced for SNL in 2020! I had it all planned out, ready to watch him kill it on stage. Then, those pictures and videos from Alabama came out, and I was devastated when they kicked him off the show for not following the COVID rules. He posted this video explaining everything, and honestly, it broke my heart. He admitted he messed up, that he was being ‘short-sighted’ and it was affecting his dreams. He even said he’d lost himself a little and needed to grow up and find joy in the right places. He said he was going to step back for a bit to work on himself, and I totally understood – he needed to do what was best for him. Thankfully, he did get another chance that December! It was amazing, and he even made a joke about the whole thing in a sketch! It just showed how much of a good sport he is, and honestly, it made me love him even more. I was so relieved he got to shine on that stage after everything.

Country singer Morgan Wallen was arrested in May 2020 for public intoxication and disorderly conduct after an incident at Kid Rock’s Nashville bar. Police reports stated he was throwing glasses and arguing with people outside. Wallen later posted on X (formerly Twitter) explaining he was just having fun with friends and apologized if anyone was bothered. The charges were ultimately dropped in July 2020, according to court records.

Court records show that in 2016, Morgan Wallen was arrested in Tennessee for suspected drunk driving. The charge was later dropped that same year.
