Mortal Kombat II has already broken a major franchise record.
The new Mortal Kombat II movie is set to be the longest film in the series so far. Releasing next month, the movie picks up after Shang Tsung’s defeat, and follows Earthrealm’s heroes as they face Shao Kahn – with the aid of new fighter Johnny Cage.
According to AMC Theaters, the new Mortal Kombat II movie will be 1 hour and 56 minutes long. This makes it the longest film in the Mortal Kombat series, surpassing the original 2021 Mortal Kombat movie, which ran for 110 minutes. While only a bit longer, the sequel is expected to have a more expansive story.
