MOUSE: P.I. For Hire Has A New Gameplay Showcase, And It’s All The Right Kinds Of Cheesy

If you enjoy shooter games, you’ll want to see this new gameplay video from IGN for Mouse: P.I. For Hire. It’s a 2.5D shooter with a cool noir style and a tough detective story, set in a world where mice deal with all kinds of human problems.

Fumi Games’ latest game is looking to be a delightfully over-the-top and humorous experience. The main character, Jack, delivers witty lines with a straight face, echoing classic detective stories. Recent gameplay footage highlights Jack’s detective skills – for example, he can sneak into crime scenes using a fake ID – and showcases the game’s unique, hand-drawn cartoon visuals.

The game is well-designed, and the music creates a fitting atmosphere, almost as if you’re walking through an old theater with a record player nearby. You’ll encounter plenty of mischievous mice trying to stop you, but Jack quickly deals with them using both his powerful punches and his gun.

Although we were hoping to see some of the game’s more unusual weapons, the preview was still very promising and suggests this could be one of the best games released this year. It’s scheduled to launch on March 19, 2026, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S.
