Second Stage Studio, a game development company from the Netherlands created by Casper van Est, who previously designed Speedrunners, is making a new game called Sprint City. It’s a 2D platformer where fast movement is key, and it will feature shared online gameplay. The game is planned to enter Early Access on PC via Steam in 2026.
We really wanted to make a game that’s all about how fun it is to move. That’s what we love most in games, and it’s what we’re good at! So with Sprint City, we built a multiplayer world where just gliding around feels amazing. We spent a ton of time perfecting the controls and making sure the visuals are cool but never distract from that core feeling of awesome movement.
