My 600-Lb. Life Star Dolly Martinez’s Cause of Death Revealed

More details surrounding Dolly Martinez’s death are coming to light.

Just two days after the passing of the My 600-Lb. Life star at age 30, her mother, Staci Thurman, revealed to TMZ on April 13th that her daughter died from congestive heart failure.

Dolly had been unwell for a while, her mother shared. She was hospitalized in Fort Worth on March 29th because of fluid buildup around her heart and lungs. Doctors put her into a medically induced coma and on a ventilator, but unfortunately, she didn’t regain consciousness.

Dolly’s half-sister, Lindsey Cooper—who was described by Staci as Dolly’s closest friend—announced the sad news of Dolly’s passing with a heartfelt message.

I’m absolutely heartbroken to share that my wonderful sister, Dolly, has passed away. She was such a bright light – truly, she could make anyone’s day just by walking into a room. Her laughter, kindness, and loving spirit were infectious, and she had this amazing gift for making everyone feel special. I’ll cherish her warmth and memory forever.

Though we’re all deeply saddened by her passing, I’m comforted knowing she’s now with our father in heaven. I imagine it’s a wonderfully joyful reunion for them both.

Dolly was featured on the TLC show My 600-Lb. Life in 2022, at the age of 25. The show followed her journey as she battled food addiction and worked towards getting weight-loss surgery.

After Dolly passed away, Lindsey responded to criticism, saying some comments were unnecessarily harsh and unkind.

She shared on Facebook on April 12th that she’s allowed to mourn her sister, Dolly. While many people may know Dolly from a TV show or TikTok, she asked that people remember Dolly was much more than just her public image.

Lindsey added, “She was my sister first. She deserves peace and she deserves kindness.”
