After more than nine years, the anime series My Hero Academia concluded in December 2025, leaving fans with mixed emotions. The anime finished just over a year after the original manga ended, showing the heroes dealing with the consequences of the Final War and working to rebuild the country. Despite the main story being over, the My Hero Academia universe continues to expand with new content like spin-offs and video games. In Winter 2026, fans can look forward to the return of the spin-off My Hero Academia: Vigilantes with its second season.
The newest My Hero Academia game, My Hero Academia: All’s Justice, from Bandai Namco, lets players battle in fast-paced single-player and player-versus-player modes. Battles are fought with teams of three characters, and the game includes a wide range of playable heroes, even those featured in the latest part of the story. Just before the game launched, the creator of My Hero Academia shared a message for fans, which Bandai Namco US posted on their official X (formerly Twitter) account.
Kohei Horikoshi Praises My Hero Academia: All’s Justice

Horikoshi recently expressed his enthusiasm for the new game, mentioning he had the chance to play it early as the creator of the original series. He was particularly happy to have been involved from the beginning.
He went on to describe the game as lighthearted, funny, and really enjoyable – almost like watching My Hero Academia. You pick a team of three characters and battle, swapping between them as needed. If two characters lose, the last one remaining gets a significant power boost.
Horikoshi talked about his time playing the game, playfully calling the character upgrades over-the-top, but in a good way. He especially loved the game’s animation and how expressive the characters were. He plans to keep playing and hopes fans will join in the fun!
The game launched on February 5, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. It was already highly awaited by fans, but a recent comment from creator Horikoshi has increased the excitement, as fans appreciate when creators acknowledge new projects based on their work.
My Hero Academia Is Commemorating Its 10th Anniversary This Year

The anime first aired in 2016 and has several exciting things planned for its fans. The biggest news is a special episode that will continue the story, based on an extra chapter from the final book. This episode will show what the students of U.A. High are up to after becoming professional heroes, and it’s set to launch globally on May 2nd, 2026. You’ll be able to watch it on Crunchyroll, but we haven’t seen any previews or images yet.
Next year, a special concert will honor composer Yuki Hayashi, who has created over 200 songs for the anime. The concert series begins in Japan on May 30th of this year and will then travel internationally. Even though it’s early February, the anime is already generating excitement and will continue to do so throughout the year, with more announcements and releases planned to surprise and delight fans – this series is far from over!
