The popular manga and anime series *My Hero Academia*, created by Kohei Horikoshi, recently concluded its run. The manga ended in August 2024, and the anime is now wrapping up as well. The anime’s final season premiered on October 4th, 2025, continuing the intense Final War Arc. Although Horikoshi didn’t initially offer a statement upon the season’s release, he later shared a touching illustration of a young All Might with his mother, Toshie Yagi, on his official X account on October 11th—the same day as the season’s second episode. Toshie Yagi first appeared in chapter 403 of the manga, but her name wasn’t revealed until May 2025 in the *Ultra Age: Final Fan Book*.
She also appeared in a special illustration with her son in Volume 40, recreating All Might’s famous pose. This illustration was later used in the opening sequence of the anime’s final season. Alongside the artwork, the creator shared an excited message about the final season, saying it had begun and encouraging fans not to miss it. It’s notable that she and her son were chosen for this promotional post, as the latest episode starts by showing All Might’s childhood with his mother, then shifts to the intense conflict currently unfolding.
My Hero Academia: Final Season Is the Most Heartbreaking Yet

The recent episode was incredibly emotional, showing us All Might’s past with Toshie and then focusing on his current battle with All For One. Even though he’d lost his powers, All Might continued to fight, determined to live up to his reputation as the Symbol of Peace. Sadly, the villains eventually overpowered him. Deku was the first to understand how close All Might was to death, and he felt powerless to help his hero.
Honestly, I was completely floored when Bakugo suddenly reappeared! It was such a powerful moment – he showed up just in time to save All Might’s life. The animation was gorgeous, and seeing his eyes lock with Deku’s from across the battlefield, even though Deku was frozen in shock, was incredible. Remember, Bakugo *died* last season during that huge fight! Now, the next episode promises to explain how he’s back on his feet and fighting again, and I’m absolutely dying to find out what happened!
The final season of My Hero Academia hasn’t announced how many episodes it will have, but it likely won’t be much longer. The most recent episode covered chapter 403 of the manga, leaving Studio Bones with 27 chapters remaining to finish the story. While the episode count is still unknown, the anime’s official website confirmed the final season will be released on Blu-ray in two parts.
