My Hero Academia Might Conclude Without Showing Its True Ending

Warning!!! Contains spoilers from the final chapters of My Hero Academia manga.

The latest episode of My Hero Academia, titled “Izuku Midoriya Rising,” wraps up the epic final battle against All For One. Deku, the series’ hero, wins with help from his friends, finally ending the villain’s long reign of terror. With the main conflict resolved, the show will finish the story with a concluding epilogue over the next three episodes, adapting the final seven chapters of the original manga.

With just three episodes left, the anime should be able to include the ending as it originally appeared in the manga. However, the manga later added two extra chapters that have become surprisingly important to the story, providing a satisfying conclusion that fans have really embraced. While manga readers are hoping these bonus chapters will be animated, the final episode doesn’t seem to be getting any extra time. This makes it unlikely the anime will include them, even though many fans believe these chapters represent the true ending.

My Hero Academia May Conclude Without Incorporating the Bonus Content

The creator of My Hero Academia added a special chapter, called “No More,” to the manga’s final volume. It takes place eight years after the fight against All For One and shows what the students of Class 1-A are up to now. The chapter focuses on a reunion celebrating Shoto Todoroki’s success – he’s now second on the Japanese Billboard Chart! – and offers fans a glimpse into how the characters have grown and hints at the romantic relationships they’ve been hoping for.

This chapter shows Deku happily settling into life as a hero, now that he has helpful equipment and isn’t facing any immediate dangers. He’s starting to think about other parts of his life, like his relationship with Uraraka, which fans have been hoping to see develop. Ultimately, the chapter emphasizes that these former U.A. students are still relatable people, offering a more down-to-earth look at their everyday lives.

The author also included a short extra chapter in a special book called My Hero Academia: Ultra Age – The Final Fan Book, which added some new information. Many fans were disappointed that Deku didn’t receive an official hero ranking after the manga finished, and this chapter finally gives him that recognition. A lot of fans are now considering this chapter to be the true ending of My Hero Academia. Considering how the anime’s final season is unfolding, it doesn’t seem like it will include these extra chapters.
