The anime series My Hero Academia is nearing its conclusion with only two episodes remaining. However, fans won’t have to wait long for more content, as a special announcement, dubbed “Plus Ultra,” is planned shortly after the finale. My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON will mark the end of the anime after eight seasons and almost nine years. As the story wraps up the events following the final battle, fans are beginning to bid farewell to Deku and the rest of the characters.
The anime series My Hero Academia will finish with its last episode in two weeks. However, the franchise isn’t over yet! At Jump Festa 2026 in Japan (December 20-21), Shueisha will be sharing more about My Hero Academia, including a special announcement called “Plus Ultra.” So even though the anime is ending, fans can look forward to one last surprise.
When Will My Hero Academia’s Anime End?

The last episode of My Hero Academia FINAL SEASON will air in Japan on December 13th, and fans can watch it on Crunchyroll and Hulu right after it’s released. This final season is the shortest one yet, with only 11 episodes. Many viewers are wondering if the anime will have enough time to cover the ending of Kohei Horikoshi’s original manga, so it’s unclear if the adaptation will be complete.
The announcement at Jump Festa 2026, revealed during the My Hero Academia presentation in Japan on December 20th, means fans won’t have to wait long to learn what the “Plus Ultra” announcement is all about. This announcement could take a few different forms, such as a new OVA special or movie that adapts content not included in the main anime series. That would be fantastic news for fans who are eager to see more of the story after the anime concludes.
How Will My Hero Academia End?
The ending of My Hero Academia is a bit ambiguous, as the anime is adapting only a chapter or so of material remaining from Kohei Horikoshi’s original manga. However, the bigger news is that Horikoshi created two new epilogue chapters after the manga finished its run in Shonen Jump. These chapters, which weren’t published in Shonen Jump, provide a more complete and satisfying conclusion to the story that fans were hoping for.
Following the intense battle against the villains, Izuku Midoriya and the heroes of U.A. Academy are all struggling to heal, both physically and emotionally. The story is now focusing on their recovery, and the key question is whether it will be handled effectively.
