After ten years, the popular manga series My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi finished its run last year. The anime adaptation began its final season in October as part of the Fall 2025 lineup, and fans are impressed with the high-quality animation as the climactic battle against All For One intensifies. This final saga is the longest and most intense arc in the series, starting with the Dark Hero Arc in Season 6. Currently, the anime is showing the Final War Arc, and is expected to wrap up the story before the end of this year. While the exact number of episodes isn’t known yet, the final season will likely include around 11 to 13 episodes as the story nears its conclusion.
Although the studio hasn’t announced how many episodes to expect, the anime is running out of source material, with less than 20 chapters remaining. This likely means the season will have around 11 or 12 episodes. While this season will finish the main story, fans can look forward to My Hero Academia: Vigilantes to continue the universe. A second season of the Vigilantes anime, based on the manga by Hideyuki Furuhashi and Court Betten, is planned for Winter 2026. Plus, Netflix has more announcements coming in 2026, though details are still under wraps.
At Least One My Hero Academia Film Will Begin Streaming on Netflix

With 2025 coming to a close, What’s On Netflix revealed the movies coming to the platform in 2026. The list includes both older titles and new releases, but doesn’t say much about Japanese anime. The website does mention that Netflix has even more content in development beyond what was listed, including more from the My Hero Academia franchise. While there are four My Hero Academia movies in total, only two are currently available to stream.
In September 2025, the movie My Hero Academia: Two Heroes was removed from the streaming service, making it harder for fans to watch. This was the first film in the My Hero Academia series, originally released in 2018, and remains popular with viewers. The third movie, World Heroes: Mission (released in 2021), is also currently unavailable in the USA. While it’s unknown which MHA film will return to the platform, it could be either Two Heroes, World Heroes: Mission, or both.
You can currently watch Heroes: Rising and You’re Next on the platform. While the four My Hero Academia movies aren’t part of the main storyline, they feature the same characters and take place in the same universe. The original creator, Kohei Horikoshi, oversaw the films’ production and worked closely with the studio, even though he didn’t write the stories himself. New episodes of the final season are released every Saturday on Crunchyroll and Netflix, where you can also find all seven previous seasons of the anime.
