Even though the My Hero Academia anime finished airing months ago, the story continues with a new series starting in Winter 2026, and it’s building on what fans loved about the original. All Might is undoubtedly the most important hero in the series – he finally defeated the villain All For One after years of terror, something previous heroes with the One For All Quirk couldn’t do. The anime starts at the very end of All Might’s time as the top hero, as he passes on his power to Izuku Midoriya.
The series has made it clear that All Might is an incredibly important hero, but it hasn’t completely shown us how he became one. We’ve seen moments that reveal his character and values, and his struggles with injuries make him relatable. However, the spin-off series Vigilantes is currently demonstrating just how extraordinary All Might was in his prime. The latest episode portrays him as almost godlike – powerful, majestic, and a true savior for people.
My Hero Academia: Vigilantes Season 2 Makes It Clear All Might Was Even Stronger Than Fans Anticipated

In the latest episode of My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, titled “This Is a Hero,” a dangerous situation unfolds when the Sky Egg begins to fall, threatening countless lives. All Might arrives just in time, responding to a direct plea from Tsukauchi, to prevent a catastrophe. The real shock comes when All Might single-handedly defeats hundreds of explosive creatures unleashed by the villains, who underestimated his power. This display of strength leads All For One to explain to one of his villains that All Might is truly exceptional—a superhuman who breaks all expectations of what a hero and their abilities can be, essentially calling him a miracle or a godlike figure.
Later in the same episode, even the character Knuckleduster points out how fortunate humanity was to have All Might, given his immense power to either save or destroy the world. This idea wasn’t really explored in the main My Hero Academia series, which showed All Might nearing the end of his career and passing on his legacy. However, the spin-off Vigilantes, set after All Might sustained his first major injuries, makes it clear that he became the Symbol of Peace because he was unbelievably powerful, even compared to other heroes—essentially a god among them. This implies that even the fully-powered Deku at the end of the story might not have reached All Might’s peak strength, suggesting All Might isn’t just the strongest character in My Hero Academia, but potentially one of the strongest in all of anime.
