Mystery WWE Superstar Interferes at WarGames (And It’s Not Seth Rollins)

The Men’s WarGames match ended WWE’s Survivor Series with the expected wildness, both inside and outside the cage. But the biggest surprise came at the very end: someone in a black hoodie entered the cage, attacked CM Punk with moves similar to Seth Rollins’ – including a superkick and a curb stomp – and then quickly left. It definitely looked like Rollins’ style, but it wasn’t actually him, and we’ve been speculating about the attacker’s true identity.

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre were unexpectedly attacked by an unknown individual, who struck Punk before quickly exiting the ring. Although the attack resembled moves used by Seth Rollins, he’s currently recovering from surgery and unavailable. WWE likely wouldn’t repeat a similar tactic so soon after a previous incident. Many fans, including myself, believe Austin Theory is the person responsible for the attack.

Looking at it practically, Theory is physically fit enough to quickly climb to the top of the cage, perform the wrestling moves, and then exit without slowing down. While their identity was concealed, the way they moved didn’t seem like Rollins, but it definitely resembled Theory’s style.

Originally, Theory was planned to join Seth Rollins’ group, “The Vision,” and participate in the WarGames match. However, when Rollins was unexpectedly injured, those plans changed quickly. The group dissolved on Raw, and Logan Paul was brought in as a replacement. This left Theory without a role, but he’s now clearly assisting The Vision and helping Bron Breakker position himself for a win. This could be a great way to officially add Theory to the faction, especially since Drew McIntyre and Paul are only involved for this single match.

Austin Theory was injured earlier this year, which led to the end of his tag team with Grayson Waller, known as A-Town Down Under. Their storyline never concluded, as Theory hasn’t been back on WWE television, and Waller has now teamed up with The New Day. Initially, Theory was supposed to join a group called The Vision, but those plans changed when Seth Rollins suffered an injury.

Whenever Seth Rollins’ name is mentioned, many fans suspect it’s another trick related to his health, similar to what happened earlier this year. While he surprised everyone by revealing he was fine before costing Punk the championship, it was hard to believe his subsequent injury was real, especially so soon after the first one. However, Rollins actually had surgery and is still wearing a sling, suggesting this is more of a plot device for the show than a way to hint at his return to wrestling.

Currently, Bron Breakker, Roderick Strong, and Paul Heyman form a powerful group. Adding someone like Theory could make them even more dangerous and give Theory a great boost as he starts his next chapter in WWE. We’ll find out who the mystery member is next week on Monday Night Raw, hopefully.
