What do we know about Greta Gerwig’s Narnia movie?
As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to share that I’ll be embarking on a magical journey as Greta Gerwig takes the helm to direct “Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew.” Gerwig herself has penned the captivating screenplay. The stellar cast she’s gathered includes Emma Mackey, Daniel Craig, Carey Mulligan, and the inimitable Meryl Streep lending her voice to Aslan. Following their successful collaborations on Barbie and Little Women, this project marks another exciting opportunity for Mackey and Streep to work with Gerwig once more. The adaptation is under the expert guidance of producers Amy Pascal, Mark Gordon, and Vincent Sieber. I can hardly wait to step into Narnia with this outstanding team!
The initial Narnia series of movies has generated approximately $1.6 billion globally, with three installments: “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” in 2005, “Prince Caspian” in 2008, and “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader” in 2010. The original cast included William Mosely, Anna Popplewell, Skandar Keynes, Georgie Henley, Liam Neeson, Tilda Swinton, James McAvoy, Ben Barnes, Peter Dinklage, and Will Poulter.
In 2026, on November 26, the movie adaptation of “The Magician’s Nephew,” from the Chronicles of Narnia series, will make its debut in cinemas. Prior to its streaming release on Netflix, a theatrical premiere is scheduled first.
