Lunacy Studios is creating The House of Hikmah, a story-rich 3D adventure game with full voice acting. The game focuses on themes of grief, what we leave behind, and finding meaning after a major loss, and is planned to release on PC via Steam in early 2026.
The game is being made by a talented team of experienced developers. They include a lead designer who previously worked on popular franchises like Star Wars: Battlefront, Mass Effect, and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood; a composer known for the soundtracks to Journey, Sword of the Sea, and The Pathless; a programmer who contributed to Life is Strange; and other skilled professionals.
In a recent announcement, creative director Faris Attieh explained that the team is working hard to build a story that truly connects with players on a personal level. They’re also thrilled to share wisdom from the Islamic Golden Age with a wider audience.

The House of Hikmah is a story-focused 3D adventure game where you’ll explore themes of grief, what we leave behind, and the quest for understanding after a major loss. You’ll solve puzzles, meet famous scholars from the Islamic Golden Age, and discover enduring wisdom within a stunningly realized House of Wisdom.
After her father passes away, Maya finds herself inside the House of Wisdom, a beautiful and magical place brimming with knowledge from throughout history. Using a strange device to change objects, she has to solve puzzles to move through worlds inspired by famous historical thinkers. With each puzzle she solves, Maya learns more about her father’s past, but she also uncovers hidden truths that might be difficult for her to handle.
