The eagerly awaited NASCAR 25 game is set to launch this fall, marking a fresh start for the popular racing simulation video game series. For quite some time, we’ve seen new NASCAR games almost every year, but a consistent annual release like the Maddens and NBA 2Ks hasn’t been in the picture until now. However, following the announcement on Thursday, July 24, we finally have a concrete release date for this much-anticipated title.
Based on the official announcement, NASCAR enthusiasts should save October 14, 2025, as a special date. That’s when this highly anticipated game is set to hit physical and digital store shelves. It’s worth noting that there hasn’t been a console game in this series since 2021, while the last one was a mobile game launched in 2023.

After that set of games, the series has been passed on to a new developer. Now, for the first time, iRacing Studios will take charge of the series. Over the past few years, Monster Games, Eutechnyx, and 704 Games have all had their turn developing it.
iRacing Studio is not only producing the game but is also acting as its publisher for the first time since 2021 when it comes to developing a NASCAR game (not including NASCAR Manager, which was released on iOS and Android devices).
This game is set to launch on both Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Although it’s planned for PC via Steam, the exact release date hasn’t been announced yet. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like the Nintendo Switch consoles will be getting
This marked improvement is noteworthy. To clarify, the previous installment in this series was titled “NASCAR 21: Ignition“. Unfortunately, it faced numerous bugs and problems, earning the reputation as the worst NASCAR game ever produced. While it suggests potential for progress, attempting to surpass such a disappointing predecessor is questionable.
This decision prompted a reassessment within the franchise, as they’re now placing their future in the hands of iRacing. This marks their initial foray into console gaming, so both parties are heavily invested in the successful release of their game scheduled for October.
iRacing Studios is well-known for crafting the premier racing simulation software across the globe. Notably, this platform is employed by online NASCAR and F1 leagues, as well as professional teams and organizations who use it to prepare drivers and design fresh tracks. Interestingly, even NASCAR itself has chosen iRacing’s program for an upcoming race in San Diego.
If this game fails, it could lead to disaster for both iRacing and NASCAR. Developers may be reluctant to work on a franchise that has struggled with its last two console releases. This would also harm iRacing’s excellent industry standing significantly. Racing games are quite popular, particularly the arcade-style ones. A poorly received “realistic” game could negatively impact the entire genre.
The NASCAR 25 game features four premier racing tracks: the Cup Series, Xfinity Series, Craftsman Truck Series, and ARCA Menards Series. Additionally, it offers a career mode where you can personalize various aspects, such as drivers, vehicles, contracts, facilities, and much more, giving you full control. You’ll also find online and multiplayer options available.
