Starting January 1, 2026, Natsume Atari – the company behind the Tengo Project – will be known as Winning Entertainment Group, the company announced.
The company provided the following reasoning for the name change:
We started our journey as Natsume in 1987, developing video games for home consoles.
Atari was founded in 2002 as a developer of pachinko and pachislot amusement games.
In 2013, we combined forces with another company to create NatsumeAtari, allowing us to develop games for both video game consoles and the pachinko/pachislot market.
As a longtime fan, it’s a little bittersweet, but I’ve learned that starting in January 2026, Natsume and Atari will be becoming something new! They’re rebranding as “Winning Entertainment Group Inc.” – it feels like a fresh start for them, and I’m excited to see what they do with it!
This change shows we’re dedicated to becoming a top entertainment company worldwide.
