NBC has revealed what happens to Owen Manning after the latest episode of *Chicago Med*. The show’s 200th episode featured a heartfelt return for original cast member Will Halstead (Nick Gehlfuss), but the celebration was cut short when someone posing as a patient caused a dangerous situation at Gaffney Medical Center.
Halstead is back on *Chicago Med* after leaving in Season 8 to be with his former partner, Natalie Manning, and her son, Owen, in Seattle. In Season 11, Episode 2, Will and Owen travel to Chicago for a visit, but things quickly become complicated when Will treats a teenager named Jasper, who is secretly carrying drugs inside his body.
The situation quickly escalated when a woman transporting drugs burst into the operating room and threatened Dr. Frost and Dr. Lenox with a gun. The doctors handed over the drugs she demanded, but then a gunshot rang out elsewhere, leaving Owen fighting for his life.
Does Own Die in Chicago Med? New Trailer Reveals the Answer
Although the latest episode of *Chicago Med* left Owen’s fate uncertain, the trailer for next week’s episode, “Horseshoes and Hand Grenades,” confirms he’s still alive. The trailer also showed that Will was the first person to call for help regarding his adopted son.
Next, the trailer cuts to Will looking worried as he brings Owen into the operating room, followed by a quick shot of Dr. Asher hurrying to assist.
The latest episode of *Chicago Med* Season 11, Episode 2, brought back a familiar face: Torrey Devito, who plays Natalie Manning, a character who’s been with the *One Chicago* franchise since the beginning.
I just saw that Maggie got a call from Sharon Goodwin – apparently, Owen’s going through a tough time. The promo for the next episode showed Maggie flying all the way from Seattle back to Chicago to be there for him, and it looks like she’ll be working with everyone at Gaffney again, which is awesome!
I’m still really worried about Owen on *Chicago Med*, but seeing him alive and fighting in the trailer definitely gave me some hope! It’s a relief to know he hasn’t been written off just yet, even though things are still touch and go.
Since Dr. Frost is now the pediatric emergency medicine specialist, he’ll likely team up with Dr. Lenox again to help Owen. It’s too bad Dr. Manning, who is also a skilled pediatrician, can only watch and worry about her son from a distance.

Why Owen Won’t Die in Chicago Med Season 11
As a fan, I’d be absolutely heartbroken if they killed off Owen on *Chicago Med*. It would really take the wind out of the already emotional return we’re seeing with Maggie, Will, and everyone else back at Gaffney. Seeing them all reunited is so special, and losing Owen would just ruin that feeling.
It would be especially impactful if the doctors at Gaffney collaborated to save the child of a fellow doctor, putting their skills to the test in a critical situation.
Owen’s death would deeply affect Halstead and Manning, who are already very close, and would be especially difficult with Manning expecting their child. It would also destroy Halstead’s hope of repairing their relationship. However, if Owen survives, he’ll eventually realize how consistently Halstead is there for him, finally creating the close father-son relationship Halstead has always wanted.
