WSS playground is partnering with animation studio Yostar Pictures to create a TV anime based on the adventure game NEEDY STREAMER OVERLOAD (released as NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE in Japan). The anime is scheduled to premiere in April 2026. Before the official release, special preview screenings will be held at Shinjuku and Umeda theaters, showing a unique, edited version of the anime episodes.

Introduction
NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE is an adventure game with multiple endings where players experience 30 days in the life of a girl determined to become a popular streamer, with help from someone named “P.” Since its release on Steam in January 2022, the game has been downloaded over three million times, and its related music has racked up more than 400 million streams, making it a successful indie title that captures aspects of internet culture.
It’s now April 2026, and OMGkawaiiAngel – or “KAngel” as her fans lovingly call her – is finally getting her own TV anime! She rose to fame as a bright spot on the often-chaotic internet of this modern era.
Yostar Pictures, the studio behind popular anime like Arknights and Blue Archive, is producing the animation. Masaoki Nakashima, a director at Yostar Pictures with experience on Blue Archive, New PANTY & STOCKING with GARTERBELT, and the NEEDY GIRL OVERDOSE short, will lead the project. He’ll be bringing a fresh story and compelling characters to life in this new anime.
