Only 19 more episodes of Neighbours will be shown, so we don’t have much time left with the characters on Ramsay Street.
The show will end after this season, marking its third cancellation. Amazon MGM Media, the current production company, has chosen not to order any episodes beyond the existing 460.
Filming wrapped up in July, and Executive Producer Jason Herbison shared that ‘Neighbours’ is a beloved show. He expressed pride in the recent seasons created for its dedicated global audience, adding 460 episodes to the show’s impressive total of over 9,000.
We’re ending this part of the story with a positive outlook and hints of exciting things to come for the residents of Ramsay Street.

Recent photos suggest the iconic Ramsay Street set might be dismantled, even if another network picks up the show.
Recent photos from the December 1st episode reveal Holly Hoyland (Lucinda Armstrong-Hall) sharing a personal conversation with her parents, Karl Kennedy (Alan Fletcher) and Susan (Jackie Woodburne).
What are they discussing?

On the December 3rd episode, Shane Ramsay (played by Peter O’Brien) unexpectedly returns, appearing in front of a large ‘Fight the Freeway’ banner at The Waterhole. This protest, which has been subtly referenced lately, might actually become a much bigger issue for the town than anyone realized.
In the next episode, several former locals return to Melbourne and join Shane for an outing in the hills.
Here’s an update on the people we know are returning, along with what we’ve learned about their upcoming projects. We’ll share more details as they become available.
9 old faces return to Neighbours for the penultimate week
1. Shane Ramsay (Peter O’Brien)

Shane, who hasn’t been seen since March, is back and talking with his son Max (played by Ben Jackson) and Karl at the pub. Nearby, to their right, Jane Harris (Annie Jones) is looking at a brochure.
Max seems unhappy, and soon after, he helps Karl and Nicolette Stone put up more “Fight the Freeway” signs around the neighborhood.
2. Sam Kratz (Richard Grieve)

Sam, a popular character from the nineties, was last seen in August after getting back together with his wife, Annalise Hartman, played by Kimberley Davies.
Recent photos show him talking with Shane, Karl, Susan, and Max in the Kennedy kitchen. They start off friendly, but the atmosphere quickly becomes more serious as they begin discussing whatever they’re working on.
Is he the one behind the redevelopment?
3. Annalise Hartman (Kimberley Davies)

It appears Annalise is working with her husband, as seen in a recent episode where she led a meeting with residents alongside Sam.
Susan always falls apart and cries on Karl’s shoulder when she hears bad news. Plus, they don’t receive a very friendly welcome from someone they used to know…
4. Sue Parker (Kate Gorman)

Sue, a former high school bully from the eighties, has made several guest appearances on the show, most recently speaking out against the proposed freeway construction.
However, after discovering she’d be quids in from the sale of her home, she seemed more on board.
Could she have a change of heart after seeing the impact it will have on everyone?
5. Mackenzie Hargreaves (Georgie Stone)

Georgie Stone, a pioneer for transgender rights, is returning to play Mackenzie one last time. She previously left the show last year to start a new life in France with her husband, Haz Devkar, who plays Shiv Palekar.
Mack joined several residents on a countryside trip that Shane appears to have planned.
6. Haz Devkar (Shiv Palekar)
Haz has returned and appears happy, enjoying a cozy getaway with Mackenzie. Meanwhile, the Varga-Murphys and Kennedys don’t seem quite as cheerful.
In fact, Susan soon storms away from the group in frustration.
Jane is holding a brochure, and it looks like Shane might be planning a new housing project.
7. Lucas Fitzgerald (Scott Major)

Lucas, who used to own the garage, hasn’t been a main character since 2013, but he’s still made occasional appearances over the past ten years. This was made possible by Major, who directs the show and was able to write in brief returns for Lucas to visit his old business on Power Road.
We thought we’d lost touch with Lucas after he sold everything to Max, but surprisingly, he showed up wearing his classic biker jacket and joined Shane’s scouting trip with the rest of the group.
8. Levi Canning (Richie Morris)

Blink and you’ll miss him, Levi Canning is hiding behind Max in one of the location shots.
We haven’t seen him in over three years, since what was originally believed to be the show’s last episode. In that episode, he told Freya Wozniak (played by Phoebe Roberts) how he felt about her, and later moved to her hometown of Echuca, as revealed when the show unexpectedly returned the following year.
It’s unclear why he’s choosing to help Ramsay Street, especially since he no longer has any family connections there.
9. Remi Varga-Murphy (Naomi Rukavina)

This year has been incredibly challenging for Remi. She was diagnosed with amnesia and, sadly, lost her memories of her wife, Cara (Sara West). On top of that, she’s also been threatened by her past enemies, the Linwell Brothers.
To cover Naomi’s maternity leave, Remi took a break in Apollo Bay, but she was still having trouble recalling details about her marriage.
It appears the Linwells are delivering a final, devastating blow to the family. A photo from the last week of the Amazon Prime series shows their son, JJ (played by Riley Bryant), bound and helpless.
Will she ever remember her old life, and will JJ be ok?
