Even though new anime is currently being released for Winter 2026, Netflix is already announcing its plans for Spring, with a big exclusive coming in April. Anime is expected to remain popular throughout the year, building on the success of last year, and 2026 has already brought some highly anticipated releases. As spring arrives, even more new anime shows will be available.
Netflix is already planning its next set of anime releases for April, even with a busy January schedule kicking off the Winter 2026 season. They’ve announced the first major series for Spring 2026: an anime adaptation of The Ramparts of Ice. This new series comes from the creator of the popular manga and anime, You and I Are Polar Opposites. You can find the trailer and poster below.
The Ramparts of Ice Comes to Netflix April 2026
Netflix has confirmed that The Ramparts of Ice will premiere on April 2nd. The series is created by Kocha Agasawa, who is currently working on a new anime for their other show, You and I Are Polar Opposites, as part of the Winter 2026 anime season. Agasawa will continue releasing new content through the Spring with this anime, which originally began as a Webtoon. However, this adaptation will explore different emotional themes compared to its version on Shonen Jump+.
Mankyu is directing the new anime The Ramparts of Ice at Studio KAI. Yasuhiro Nakanishi is writing the scripts, Miki Ogino is designing the characters, and Kanade Sakuma and Natsumi Tabuchi are composing the music. The voice cast includes Anna Nagase as Koyuki Hikawa, Fuka Izumi as Miki Azumi, Shoya Chiba as Minato Amamiya, and Satoshi Inomata as Yota Hino. Netflix has also released a first look at the anime’s story.
What Is The Ramparts of Ice About?

I’ve heard about a new series called The Ramparts of Ice, and it sounds intriguing. The main character, Koyuki Hikawa, is a pretty private person, keeping everyone at arm’s length. She mostly just hangs out with her longtime friend, Miki Azumi. But her peaceful life gets shaken up when a boy named Minato Amamiya starts making an effort to get close to her, even though she seems determined to keep people out.
The story follows Koyuki, a distant student, the popular Miki, the overly friendly Minato, and the easygoing basketball player Yota, as they navigate the ups and downs of school life. Their paths intertwine in this drama about youth and connection. This anime is one of Netflix’s big releases this April, alongside other popular series like JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Steel Ball Run, making it a promising spring for anime fans.
