Netflix announced that the final season of Heartstopper, titled ‘Heartstopper Forever,’ will be released soon, bringing the beloved LGBTQ+ teen series to a close after a successful run.
This show centers on the developing relationship between high school students Charlie Spring and Nick Nelson, and also explores other LGBTQ+ romances among their friend group.
Fans are celebrating the four-year anniversary of the show today, and Netflix has announced the release date for its final season: Friday, July 17, 2026.
The news was revealed in a short video posted on social media, showing pictures of the actors – both as their characters and candid shots from over the years they spent working on the show. You can watch it here:

This touching collection of moments highlights the cast’s incredible journey since the beginning of Heartstopper, with Alice Oseman being central to bringing their popular graphic novels to life on screen.
The video concludes with a brand-new photo of the Heartstopper actors filming the final extended episode. They’re gathered around a café table, with bookshelves visible in the background.
Is this the final get-together for the group before they all start new adventures? We’ll see when Heartstopper Forever comes to Netflix this summer.

I’m really excited because the movie is going to pull a lot from the sixth and final book in Alice Oseman’s graphic novel series. And the timing is perfect – the book itself comes out just two weeks before the film, so we fans will have a little time to get ready and know what’s coming!
The popular teen drama helped launch the careers of its stars, Connor and Locke. Since then, Connor has appeared in Alex Garland’s Elden Ring, and Locke has joined the cast of Marvel’s Agatha All Along.
