2025 was a strong year for anime, with the Fall season being particularly notable. It included the highly praised final season of My Hero Academia, often considered the best anime of the year. However, the Fall season also delivered one of the worst anime in recent memory, despite generally positive reception for other series. Despite significant criticism and controversy, Netflix seems to be planning to continue the show. The anime in question is the third season of One-Punch Man, produced by J.C. Staff.
After a six-year wait, expectations for the new season of One-Punch Man were fairly low – fans just wanted a good adaptation. The director’s communication with fans beforehand suggested it would be an improvement over the second season, but as episodes released, it became clear the quality was actually worse. With only one episode left, fans are worried about the anime’s future. Netflix has indicated the series will continue with the same studio, J.C. Staff, despite the negative reception.
Netflix Hints One-Punch Man Season 3 to Continue Under the Same Circumstances

An anime news account on X noticed that Netflix is listing the upcoming season of One-Punch Man as “Part 1.” While Netflix and the animation studio haven’t officially said if there will be a “Part 2,” this strongly hints that more episodes are planned. It seems the current story arc is too long to fit into just twelve episodes, so the season is likely being split into two parts. We might get an official announcement about a second part soon after the first twelve episodes finish airing.
It’s good news that the One-Punch Man anime will continue, but many fans are worried that J.C. Staff will still be in charge of making it. They’re concerned because the upcoming story arcs, especially the fight between Saitama and Garou, are fan favorites and deserve a high-quality adaptation. After the noticeably lower quality of the last two seasons, fans are afraid the anime won’t do these iconic moments justice. With J.C. Staff continuing to lead production, it seems unlikely the anime will improve, and it risks further disappointing fans and causing more criticism.
