Netflix Is Losing a $634 Million Hit Just a Month After it Arrived

Okay, so Netflix has a few big movies available right now, but here’s the thing that’s really bugging me: one of the newer ones, starring Timothée Chalamet, is already leaving! And it just got added at the beginning of November – it feels like it barely had a chance to breathe!

The popular movie Wonka, which earned over $634 million in theaters a couple of years ago, will be removed from Netflix soon. Netflix has announced that November 30th is the last day to stream it, only about a month after it became available on the platform.

Good news for fans of the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory prequel! The movie Wonka has been continuously available to stream on HBO Max, even during the recent changes with Netflix. This means it’s consistently had a dedicated streaming platform.

Fans of Timothée Chalamet might be disappointed to learn that Netflix is losing Wonka soon, especially since his new movie, Marty Supreme, is coming out in theaters around the same time. Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie and produced by A24, will be released on Christmas.

Other Movies Leaving Netflix

Unfortunately, several popular movies will soon be removed from Netflix. Along with Wonka, all three films in the Back to the Future, Austin Powers, and Beverly Hills Cop series are leaving the service in the US. Other titles being removed include Clueless and The Goonies.

You can check out a list of Netflix’s biggest December movie losses below.

Here’s a list of movies: After Sunset, Apollo 13, the Austin Powers trilogy (International Man of Mystery, The Spy Who Shagged Me, and Goldmember), the Back to the Future trilogy, the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy, Billy Madison, Christmas With the Cranks, Clueless, Cold Pursuit, Coming to America, the Daddy’s Home movies, Downton Abbey, Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax, E.T., Edge of Tomorrow, Emily the Criminal, Escape Room, Game Night, Gods of Egypt, Hostiles, Hot Shots and its sequel, Hudson Hawk, Inglorious Basterds, the Journey to the Center of the Earth films, Kicking and Screaming, Longshot, Midnight Run, Midway, Paddington, Plane, San Andreas, Tangerine, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies, The Dark Tower, The Devil’s Own, The Equalizer, The Goonies, The Happytime Murders, The Legend of Zorro, The Night Before, The Nutty Professor, The Rookie, Think Like a Man Too, and Vacation.
