Netflix has been a go-to streaming service for fans following the journeys of Ash Ketchum and Pikachu for quite some time. However, with the advent of “Pokémon Horizons” featuring new characters Liko and Roy, Netflix moved on from Ash’s story. Interestingly, the tale of Ash’s rise to become a world champion is still available on Netflix. Regrettably, it seems that the run of “Pokemon Journeys” on Netflix may be drawing to a close, as per a recent update on their catalog. If past trends are any indication, there might be hope for fans if the series finds a new home soon.
In an upcoming development, Netflix has announced that several popular Pokemon series will no longer be available starting on October 10th. As of now, the affected shows include “Pokemon Journey: The Series”, “Pokemon Master Journeys: The Series”, “Pokemon Ultimate Journeys: The Series”, and “Pokemon: To Be a Pokemon Master: Ultimate Journeys: The Series”. Previously, these series were slated for removal from Netflix last year, but they were later reinstated. Given this history, there’s a chance that the shows could return in the fall, but if you want to reminisce about Ash’s world championship victory, it would be wise to watch them before October 10th.
Where is Ash Anyway?

Thankfully, “Pokemon Horizons” is accessible for viewing on Netflix currently, without any hints of removing earlier installments from the latest anime series. Though North America is yet to fully catch up with the Japanese airings, Netflix has been steadily releasing substantial collections of episodes in the past. Here’s hoping that our journey with “Pokémon” and Netflix continues for a long time, as the anime adaptation has faced challenges in consolidating all its numerous episodes under one platform.
Regarding Ash and Pikachu from the anime series, viewers are unsure if they exist in the same universe as Liko and Roy. Some creators hinted that Ash could reappear in future installments, but nothing is definitive yet. It’s exciting to imagine an older Ash or a World Champion Ketchum defending his title, creating intriguing tales. However, it remains unclear when Ash might rejoin us with Pikachu by his side.
Moving ahead with “Pokemon Horizons”, the popular Nintendo video game series is set to introduce another title this fall: “Pokemon Legends: Z to A”. Scheduled for release on October 16th, this upcoming game seems to follow closely in the footsteps of its predecessor, “Arceus”. Interestingly, it appears that Ash, a character who has mostly been absent from the video games, may not feature in this new entry. However, unexpected events have a history of occurring in the Pokemon universe.
