On August 6th, 2025, the second season of the show “Wednesday” unveils fresh enigmas for Jenna Ortega’s character to untangle, and it appears that some eagle-eyed viewers may have already solved one of the most significant mysteries. After a three-year absence, the release of four new episodes has sparked numerous questions. For instance, who is Wednesday’s stalker? This mystery gets addressed in the initial set of episodes. However, other puzzles will remain unsolved until Season 2, Part 2 premieres on September 3rd.
Despite the attack by Tyler/Hyde in Episode 4’s finale, there was no question that Wednesday herself would fully recuperate. Other intriguing mysteries for Season 2 Part 2 of Wednesday involve the relationship between the zombie Slurp and Augustus Stonehearst, as well as Judi’s current intentions. One of the most significant questions is the identity of a Willow Hill inmate who took part in the LOIS program, one that Wednesday rescues, potentially holding key connections to another prominent character.
Who Is The Woman Wednesday Saves At The End?

As an ardent fan, I’ve been intrigued by the recent revelation of this enigmatic woman. Two compelling theories have emerged: could she be Tyler’s mother, Francoise Galpin, or Wednesday’s aunt, Ophelia Frump? Both women have been subtly woven into the narrative, suggesting that they may make an appearance in some capacity.
Francoise, a Hyde with a troubled past, was institutionalized at Willow Hill and supposedly passed away there. On the other hand, Ophelia, who seems to possess psychic abilities, was also sent to the asylum but is rumored to have managed an escape.
The mystery surrounding them only adds to my excitement for what’s to come!
In all likelihood, Ophelia will appear in Season 2, Part 2 of Wednesday, although it’s more plausible that the woman at the end is Tyler’s mother. Given that we know she was at Willow Hill at the end of her story, and considering her husband, Donovan (the late Sheriff of Jericho), was probing matters before his demise, it seems logical that this connection would have been significant. Furthermore, the fact that her cell carries a “High Security” warning implies that she might be someone other than a psychic – perhaps a Hyde instead.
In simpler terms, the woman who is Tyler’s mother seems to fit the description we have of Francoise based on the few images we’ve seen so far. Her hair and features resemble those of the woman in the LOIS cell more than they do Morticia and Wednesday Addams. Additionally, if Francoise were to ask Wednesday if she’s an angel, it would be out of character for the Frump family as depicted thus far. This revelation could serve as a clever twist, especially if it leads to a reunion between Tyler and his mother and possibly gives him some control over his Hyde abilities, providing a satisfying conclusion to his storyline.
Netflix Has Seemingly Confirmed The Woman Is Tyler’s Mom

The hints suggest that the woman could be Tyler’s mother. This theory is further strengthened by the credits for “Wednesday” Season 2, Episode 4. While Frances O’Connor plays the character, she’s listed as a guest star, not with a specific character name. However, upon closer inspection of the credits, it appears that voice dub casts for foreign versions of Netflix are provided, and many of these list a character named “Francoise.
Without a distinct last name given, it’s quite unusual, even for Wednesday’s peculiar standards, to encounter two characters named Francoise. This strong repetition strongly hints that the woman in the cell could very well be Tyler’s mother. However, there might be oversights or errors in the production process, but usually, the most straightforward explanation tends to hold true: the woman is Francoise Galpin.
It Makes Sense The Woman Isn’t Wednesday’s Aunt Ophelia

In this context, it’s plausible that Tyler’s mother is indeed Ophelia, but it also fits the narrative if she isn’t. Uncle Fester seems unfamiliar with the character, which doesn’t disprove the theory since they only knew each other for a short time and her appearance might have changed significantly due to experiments. However, introducing Ophelia into the story at this point could unnecessarily complicate things.
Introducing Ophelia through alternative methods could be more seamless in the narrative. The 1991 series, “The Addams Family,” featured a return of a long-lost sibling, Fester, and this could inspire a similar plotline for Wednesday, with Ophelia having been absent from Jericho, Nevermore, and Willow Hill. There are organic ways to weave her into the story that seem fitting, while introducing Tyler’s mother might be more straightforward, considering Netflix didn’t try to keep her presence a secret.
On Netflix, you can now stream the first half of “Wednesday” Season 2. Look forward to the second part, releasing on September 3rd!
