New Year’s Eve is almost here, and with it, some changes are coming to what you can watch on Netflix. While Netflix is adding new movies and shows like 12 Years a Slave and Despicable Me on January 1st, 2026, it’s also removing content. A popular TV show, recently added to the platform, will have all four seasons taken off Netflix in the new year.
If you’re a fan of Mr. Robot, you have only a week left to watch it on Netflix. All four seasons of the series, starring Rami Malek, became available in July, but will be removed on January 3rd. The critically acclaimed show, which originally ran from 2015 to 2019, follows Elliot Alderson, a cybersecurity engineer and hacker, as he joins a group trying to take down major corporations.
Mr. Robot Is a Genre-Bending Psychological Thriller Masterpiece
It’s no surprise Mr. Robot consistently ranks among the best shows of the decade – it’s a truly exceptional series and a game-changer for thrillers. If you enjoy suspenseful and intelligent TV, you absolutely need to watch it. Mr. Robot is more than just a story about hacking; it’s a richly detailed drama that uses the world of technology to explore complex human emotions, seamlessly blending techno-thriller elements with psychological drama, classic thriller tropes, and even science fiction.
As a huge fan, I’ve always felt like Mr. Robot isn’t just a TV show – it’s a total immersion into what’s going on inside Elliot’s head. It really tackles tough stuff like mental health, past trauma, and figuring out who you are. What I loved most was how daring it was, constantly trying new things with its storytelling and having this really cool, rebellious attitude. Plus, the way it looked – thanks to Sam Esmail’s vision – felt more like watching a movie than an episode of TV. And the acting? Incredible! Rami Malek absolutely deserved his Emmy for playing Elliot, and Christian Slater and the whole cast were just phenomenal.
During its four seasons, Mr. Robot received consistently high praise, averaging a 94% score from critics on Rotten Tomatoes and never falling below 90% in any season. Viewers also loved it, giving it a 93% audience rating. The show’s quality is further highlighted by the fact that 22 out of its 45 episodes have an IMDb rating of 9.0 or higher.
Where to Stream Mr. Robot After It Leaves Netflix?
It’s a shame that Mr. Robot recently left Netflix, especially considering how good the show is and its limited time on the platform. Fortunately, you can still watch all four seasons for free on Tubi, and it doesn’t look like it will be removed from there anytime soon. There’s also a chance Mr. Robot could end up on another streaming service down the line.
