Netflix’s Best Action TV Show Returns As An Immediate Top 3 Streaming Hit With 35 Million Hours Viewed

Three years after its exciting first season arrived on Netflix, the second season of this action-packed K-drama is now available. It’s quickly become popular again, gaining millions of views in just days. The show has already jumped to number two on the list of most-watched titles, and it looks like it could soon take the top spot. Watch out, Jo Nesbø’s Detective Hole!

Based on the webtoon by Jeong Chan, the series Bloodhounds follows Kim Gun-woo, a young boxer whose mother falls victim to a dangerous loan shark while trying to provide for her family. Season one saw Gun-woo team up with a less violent loan shark, Choi Tae-ho, and a former marine, Hong Woo-jin, leading them into the brutal world of debt collection. Now, season two focuses on Gun-woo and Woo-jin dealing with the aftermath of those experiences, while also becoming targets of an illegal boxing organization. While a bit more subdued than the first season, it remains a tense and captivating story, and strongly hints at an even more explosive third season.

Season 2 of Bloodhounds Ups the Ante in Dramatic Fashion

Early reactions to Bloodhounds Season 2, from both viewers and critics, suggest it’s a strong continuation of the series. Though the new season’s conflicts don’t feel quite as high-stakes as before, it remains a gripping and emotionally charged thriller. As critic Charles Hartford puts it, the season is a “fast, action-packed race,” but doesn’t quite reach the same level of intensity as the first season.

Honestly, a lot of fans, including me, actually think Season 2 was a huge improvement over the first! While Season 1 was definitely fun, it felt a little rushed and messy at times – some scenes just didn’t seem to fit or dragged on too long, especially near the end. Season 2, though? It was so much tighter and faster-paced, with a bigger scope and way more exciting fights – and even more boxing, which I loved! It felt like they took a risk with a more emotional story, but they didn’t lose the action that made the first season great. Instead, they used that tension to build something really amazing.
