Netflix usually skips theatrical releases, preferring to stream movies directly to subscribers. However, this December, a few of their popular holiday films will be shown in select Regal Cinemas for a limited time. It’s not a typical movie release, but it gives fans a chance to experience these films on the big screen.
As a total movie fanatic, I’m so excited about what Regal is doing this December! They’re bringing back a bunch of classic Christmas movies to theaters for a few nights each. Think favorites like National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and A Christmas Story, plus they’re even doing a sing-along version of Elf! What’s really cool is they’re including three Christmas movies that first came out on Netflix, so you can finally see them on the big screen!
As a huge Christmas movie fan, I’m really excited about this! It feels like it’s been ages since a new holiday film joined the ranks of classics like Elf and The Polar Express. Well, The Christmas Chronicles finally did it, and now both it and its sequel, The Christmas Chronicles 2, are hitting select Regal theaters! You can catch the first one on December 10th, and the second one on December 11th. I’m definitely planning a trip!
The most anticipated of Netflix’s movie theater events will likely be during the week of Christmas. Starting December 22nd, Regal Cinemas will be showing Klaus, the animated film nominated for an Academy Award. While it hasn’t become as well-known as The Christmas Chronicles, many consider Klaus to be the best new Christmas movie in the last ten years. Its beautiful animation and touching story make it perfect for the big screen, and it’s great that audiences will finally get to experience it in theaters.
As a movie lover, I wanted to let everyone know these screenings are happening on specific dates only – so if you want to see these films on the big screen, that’s your chance this year! Luckily, most of the theaters are showing them multiple times throughout the day. For instance, the Regal at Opry Mills in Nashville has showings of The Christmas Chronicles at 11:20 AM and 6:50 PM on Wednesday, and another Regal in Nashville has times at 3:55 PM and 6:40 PM. Definitely check your local listings to find a time that works for you!
I’m so excited Regal is doing Holiday Classics again! I’m checking my local theater to see if they’re showing them this year, and if yours is too, definitely look up the showtimes for the movie you want to see. They change every week, and since movies like Klaus and The Christmas Chronicles are different lengths, the times will be different for each one.
Don’t miss this rare opportunity to watch your favorite Netflix Christmas movies in theaters! If the event goes well, Regal hopes to offer more screenings like this one in the future.
