The third season of Record of Ragnarok has arrived after a two-year wait, and it’s bigger than ever before. Since its debut on Netflix in 2021, Record of Ragnarok has become a very popular anime, though it has faced criticism for its animation quality and its portrayal of the Hindu goddess Shiva, which led to it being banned in India.
Okay, so Record of Ragnarok definitely gets people talking – it’s a bit of a divisive show, I know! But honestly, it’s become such a huge deal for Netflix. It’s consistently one of their most-watched anime, and just a really popular show overall. That’s why it’s gotten a third season, and I was really happy to see it – it totally delivered and was worth the wait!
Why Record Of Ragnarok Season 3 Is The Anime’s Biggest Season Yet
Even though Record of Ragnarok is generally popular, many people didn’t have high hopes for season 3. The manga is well-known for its beautiful art and exciting battles, but the anime hasn’t been able to recreate that same quality. Its visuals and animation have consistently been weak, making it difficult to watch.
Despite some existing issues, season 3 of Record of Ragnarok was surprisingly enjoyable. The art and animation, particularly during the fight scenes, were noticeably better than in previous seasons, making it the best-animated season of the series so far.
Season 3 of Record of Ragnarok is a major improvement, largely due to its compelling new characters – including Hades, Beelzebub, Qin Shi Huang, and Nikola Tesla. The character development is some of the best the anime has offered, and paired with surprisingly good animation, it makes this season the most enjoyable to watch from beginning to end.
Is Record Of Ragnarok Finally Redeemed?
Each season of Record of Ragnarok has involved changes to the production team, and season 3 was the most significant yet. With Maru Animation joining and Graphinica – which had worked on the show since the beginning – leaving, season 3 saw a much larger shift in how it was made compared to previous seasons.
Season 2 didn’t show much improvement, but Season 3 is a clear step up in quality. While it’s not flawless, it’s significantly better than the first two seasons, which were often just barely watchable. It’s really encouraging to see this progress.
It’s unclear if the latest season fully makes up for the first two seasons of Record of Ragnarok, but the animation has finally caught up to the story’s quality. Hopefully, the series will continue to improve.
