Good news for fans! An update has finally been released about the second season of the popular anime series.
The official Delicious in Dungeon anime account announced on X (formerly Twitter) that Season 2 is now in production. They asked fans to be patient for more news and also shared some New Year’s advice: eat healthier, improve your daily routine, and get some exercise. They wished everyone a happy new year!
Delicious in Dungeon Anime Fans Must Wait ‘A Little Longer’ for Season 2 Release
I first stumbled upon this amazing story back in 2014 in a magazine called Harta, and I was instantly hooked! It quickly gained a really devoted following because it offered something a little different – a dungeon-crawling adventure that didn’t take itself too seriously. The story, Delicious in Dungeon, is about a group of adventurers on a wild quest to save their friend. She was unfortunately swallowed by a huge dragon, and they’re determined to rescue her before she becomes dinner!
Swordsman Laios, spellcaster Marcille, and locksmith Chilchuck team up with dwarf adventurer Senshi on their journey. Senshi not only helps them defeat monsters, but surprisingly, he also teaches them how to cook and eat them, turning their exciting adventure into a unique cooking lesson.
The Delicious in Dungeon manga was very popular with both critics and fans during its original print run. The series spans 14 volumes, with the final one released in 2023. A recent anime adaptation in 2024 has brought even more attention to this well-loved story.
The first season had 24 episodes and was a hit with both critics and viewers. Currently, it has a perfect 100% score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on six professional reviews. Viewers also loved it, giving it a 93% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on over 100 user reviews.
Although a release date hasn’t been announced, a second season of the Delicious in Dungeon anime is in the works, confirmed to begin production right after the first season ended in June. In the meantime, fans can further immerse themselves in the world of Delicious in Dungeon with the board game adaptation, Monster Eater: Delicious in Dungeon the Board Game. Originally released in 2022 by Arclight Games, Yen Press will publish a localized version in May 2026.
